Abstract

The Boomerang Pillow is an orthopaedic pillow providing optimum neck support. It has a unique shape looking like a boomerang. The position of the human neck normally falls into a slightly forward position while sleeping. The downward angled Boomerang pillow allows for the user's neck to continue to be aligned with the pillow. The middle section (Fig 2, D) is set in a neutral plane so the user may also lie on their back. The top part A of the pillow is made of a softer material for comfort and has a bulbous shape at one end to support the concavity of the neck. The lower section B is made of a denser material to provide maximum support. The pillow also comes with a series of Boomerang shaped wedges C made from the same material as B which can be added to the pillow to allow for height adjustment.

Description

The Boomerang Pillow (Description)
The Boomerang Pillow is a new style of orthopaedic pillow aimed at providing optimum neck support for the user while they are asleep. It has two unique properties that make it different from other orthopaedic pillows.
Firstly it has a unique shape, hence the name, because it looks like a boomerang. The position of the human neck normally falls into a slightly forward position while sleeping.
The downward angled Boomerang pillow allows for the users neck to continue to be aligned with the pillow. The middle section (D) Fig 2 is set in a neutral plane so the user may also lie on their back. The Boomerang pillow (A and B) consists of two densities.
The top part (A) is made of a softer material (to be determined) and has a bulbous shape at one end to fully support the concavity of the neck at this point. It is soft to allow for maximum comfort. The lower section (B) is made of a denser material (to be determined) and will not compress much the purpose of which is to provide maximum support.
The second unique factor is that the pillow comes with a series of Boomerang shaped wedges made from the same material as (B) These wedges can be added to the Boomerang Pillow in order to change the height of the pillow so it may be adjusted for individual user comfort.
