Abstract

A bathroom storage device 1comprises a mat 2 having first and second faces 2A,2B. A plurality of suckers 3 are integrally formed on first face 2A of the mat 2 to secure the mat to a vertical wall. A flexible mirror 5 is provided on the second face 2B. Preferably at least one pocket 4 is provided on the second face 2B. The second face may also feature a toothbrush holder 7 and a soap dish 6.

Description

Title: Bathroom Storage Device The present invention relates to a bathroom storage device, especially for toiletries.
According to the present invention there is provided a bathroom storage device comprising: a) a mat having first and second faces, b) a plurality of suckers integrally formed on said first face of the mat to secure the mat to a vertical wall, and c) a flexible mirror on the second face Preferably at least one pocket is provided on said second face. The or each pocket may be integrally formed with the mat. Alternatively the or each pocket may be formed separately and secured to the mat. The or each pocket may be releasably secured to the mat. The or each pocket may include one or more keys which engage with one or more keyways on the mat or vice versa.
Alternatively the pocket may be formed from netting.
Preferably the second face includes a soap dish. The soap dish may be integrally formed with the mat. Alternatively the soap dish may be formed separately and secured to the mat. The soap dish may be releasably secured to the mat. The soap dish may include one or more keys which engage with one or more keyways on the mat or vice versa.
Preferably the second face includes a toothbrush holder. The toothbrush holder may be integrally formed with the mat. Alternatively the toothbrush holder may be formed separately and secured to the mat. The tooth brush holder may be releasably secured to the mat. The toothbrush holder may include one or more keys which engage with one or more keyways on the mat or vice versa.
Preferably the second face includes a hook for flannels and the like. The hook may be integrally formed with the mat. Alternatively the hook may be formed on a pocket or formed separately and secured to the mat. The hook may be releasably secured to the mat. The hook may include one or more keys which engage with one or more keyways on the mat or vice versa.
The mat may include one or more hinge or fold line to allow the may to fold. The mat may include a releasable fastener to secure the mat in a folded position. The mat may have a single hinge or fold line so it can fold in half.
An embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to and as shown in the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows a perspective of a first embodiment.
Figures 2A and 2B show perspective views of a second embodiment, and Figure 3 shows a perspective view of a third embodiment.
Referring to Figure 1 there is shown a bathroom storage device 1.
Storage device I has a mat having a first face 2A and a second face 2B. A plurality of suckers 3 are integrally formed on said first face 2A of the mat 2 to secure the mat to a vertical wall such as shower cubicle wall.
At least one pocket 4 is provided on second face 2B. Pocket 4 is designed to accommodate shampoo bottles shower gel bottles and other toiletries. The or each pocket 4 may be integrally formed with the mat 2. Alternatively any pocket 4 may be formed from netting.
A flexible mirror 5 is provided on the second face 2B. Mirror 5 is flexible so it will not shatter and so that it can bend if the storage device I is rolled up or folded.
A soap dish 6 is provided on the second face 2B. The soap dish 6 may be integrally formed with the mat 2.
A toothbrush holder 7 is provided on the second face 2B. The toothbrush holder may be integrally formed with the mat 2.
A hook 8 is provided on the second face 2B for flannels and the like. The hook 8 holder may be integrally formed with the mat 2.
In use, the storage device I can be secured to the wall of a shower, e.g. a tiled wall, using the suckers 3. The storage device I can be permanently secured to the wall or can be removed from the wall and rolled up or folded and taken to another location, e.g. when travelling. It can be rolled up or folded with toiletries in place so obviating the need for a separate wash bag. Also it can be placed in a washing machine for cleaning.
It is envisaged that the storage device I could be moulded from rubber or synthetic rubber or other flexible plastics. The device may also be themed, e.g. with a cartoon character or mat support advertising messages or logos.
The storage device 1 may include other receptacles, e.g. for razors or clock radios.
Referring to Figures 2A and 2B there is shown an alternative bathroom storage device 10.
Storage device 10 has a mat 12 having a first face 12A and a second face l2B. A plurality of suckers 13 are integrally formed on said first face 12A of the mat 12 to secure the mat to a vertical wall such as shower cubicle wall.
At least one pocket 14 is provided on second face 12B. Pocket 14 is designed to accommodate shampoo bottles shower gel bottles and other toiletries. The or each pocket 14 may have keys 14A on the rear thereof (not visible) to engage in keyways 14B on mat 12. The or each pocket 14 is thus releasably secured to the mat 12.
A flexible mirror 15, e.g. of acrylic, is supported in a slot 15A on the second face 12B. Mirror 15 is flexible and of a material so it will not shatter.
A soap dish 16 is provided on the second face I 2B. The soap dish 16 may have keys 1 6A on the rear thereof (not visible) to engage in keyways 16B on mat 12. Soap dish 16 is thus releasably secured to the mat 12.
Four toothbrush holders 17 are provided on the second face 2B. Toothbrush holders 17 have keys I 7A on the rear thereof (not visible) to engage in keyways 1 7B on mat 12. Toothbrush holders 17 are thus releasably secured to the mat 12.
Hooks 18A,18B are provided on pocket/s 14 for flannels and the like. Alternatively hooks could be formed separately and provided with keys to engage with keyways on the mat 12.
In use, the storage device 10 can be secured to the wall of a shower, e.g. a tiled wall, using the suckers 13. The storage device 10 can be permanently secured to the wall or can be removed from the wall and rolled up or folded and taken to another location, e.g. when travelling. It can be rolled up or folded with toiletries in place so obviating the need for a separate wash bag. Also it can be placed in a washing machine for cleaning.
It is envisaged that the storage device mat 12 could be moulded from rubber or synthetic rubber or other flexible plastics, and the pocket/s 14, soap dish 16 and toothbrush holders 17 moulded from plastics. The device may also be themed, e.g. with a cartoon character or mat support advertising messages or logos.
The provision of keyways in mat 12 could also allow a person to customise an arrangement of receptacles for toiletries on mat 12, e.g. a person could choose where to put or whether to include a soap dish, toothbrush holder or pocket 14 on mat 12.
The storage device 10 may include other receptacles, e.g. for razors or clock radios.
Referring now to Figure 3 there is shown a bathroom storage device 20, more suitable for travel purposes, e.g. to take to a gym.
Storage device 20 has a mat 22 having a first face 22A and a second face 22B. A plurality of suckers 23 are integrally formed on said first face 22A of the mat 22 to secure the mat to a vertical wall such as shower cubicle wall.
At least one pocket 24 is provided on second face 22B. Pocket 24 is designed to accommodate shampoo bottles shower gel bottles and other toiletries. The or each pocket 24 may be integrally formed with the mat 22, or may be formed from netting which could be riveted to the mate 22.
A flexible mirror 25 is provided on the second face 22B. Mirror 25 is flexible, e.g. acrylic, so it will not shatter and so that it can bend if the storage device I is folded.
A razor pocket 26A and "travel-size" shampoo and gel pockets 26B are provided on the second face 2B. The pockets 26A and 26B may be integrally formed with the mat 22.
A toothbrush and toothpaste holder 27 is provided on the second face 22B. The toothbrush holder may be integrally formed with the mat 22.
A fold line or hinge 28 is provided integrally formed in the mat 20 allowing the mat 20 to fold in half so it can be transported more easily. The mat may include a releasable fastener having co-operating parts 29A,29B to secure the mat in a folded position. Parts 29A,29B may include poppers or any other mechanism In use, the storage device 20 can be pre-filled with cleaning products and take folded to a place of use, e.g. a gym or when travelling. It can be unfolded and secured to the wall of a shower, e.g. a tiled wall, using the suckers 23. It obviates the need for a separate wash bag. Also it can be placed in a washing machine for cleaning.
It is envisaged that the storage device 20 with hinge 28 could be moulded from rubber or synthetic rubber or other flexible plastics, e.g. injection or compression moulded. The device may also be themed, e.g. with a cartoon character or mat support advertising messages or logos.
The storage device 20 may include other receptacles, e.g. for razors or clock radios.
The devices described above are water repellent, waterproof, do not allow absorption of water and allow for drainage.
The invention may take a form different to that specifically described above.
Further modifications will be apparent to those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims (14)

  1. CLAIMS1. A bathroom storage device comprising: a) a mat having first and second faces, b) a plurality of suckers integrally formed on said first face of the mat to secure the mat to a vertical wall, and c) a flexible mirror on the second face.
  2. 2. A bathroom storage device according to claim 1, wherein at least one pocket is provided on said second face.
  3. 3. A bathroom storage device according to claim 2, wherein the or each pocket is integrally formed with the mat.
  4. 4. A bathroom storage device according to claim 2, wherein the or each pocket is releasably secured to the mat with at least one key on the pocket engaging with at least one keyway on the mat or vice versa.
  5. 5. A bathroom storage device according to claim 2 or 4, wherein the pocket is formed from netting.
  6. 6. A bathroom storage device according to any preceding claim, wherein the second face includes a soap dish.
  7. 7. A bathroom storage device according to claim 6, wherein the soap dish is integrally formed with the mat.
  8. 8. A bathroom storage device according to claim 6, wherein the soap dish is releasably secured to the mat with at least one key on the soap dish engaging with at least one keyway on the mat or vice versa.
  9. 9. A bathroom storage device according to any preceding claim, wherein the second face includes a toothbrush holder.
  10. 10. A bathroom storage device according to claim 9, wherein the toothbrush holder is integrally formed with the mat.II. A bathroom storage device according to claim 9, wherein the toothbrush holder is releasably secured to the mat with at least one key on the toothbrush holder engaging with at least one keyway on the mat or vice versa.I12. A bathroom storage device according to any preceding claim, wherein the second face includes a hook for flannels and the like.10. A bathroom storage device according to claim 9, wherein the hook is integrally formed with the mat.
  11. 11. A bathroom storage device according to claim 9, wherein the hook is releasably secured to the mat with at least one key on the hook engaging with at least one keyway on the mat or vice versa.
  12. 12. A bathroom storage device according to any preceding claim, wherein the mat includes at least one hinge or fold line to allow the mat to fold.
  13. I 3. A bathroom storage device according to claim 12, further comprising a releasable fastener to secure the mat in the folded position.
  14. 14. A bathroom storage device substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as shown in the accompanying drawings.
