Abstract

A retractable fluid applicator includes a spring loaded flexible brush B that may be drawn from a container with a fluid reservoir. The brush may then be used to apply fluid to the body. When the brush is withdrawn into the container it is fixed in place by the screw threaded knob A.

Description

RETRACTABLE ALL OVER BODY APPLICATOR
This invention relates to a retractable applicator that can apply lotion to parts of the body that cannot be reached by a persons own hand eg. the persons back area. This is acheived by extending a flexible brush from a hand sized container. A lotion reservoir is maintained within the brush container It is envisaged that excessive exposure to the sun could be reduced for any person, single or different gender, young or old, in circumstances where they require sun protection. 1.

The size of the applicator is such, that the applicator body can be held in one hand, the flexible brush knob ( A Fig.1) unscrewded and the flexible brush ( B Fig.I) extended by the other hand.
The Applicator houses a reservoir of lotion to recharge the brush, the reservoir itself can be replenished by means of removing the recharging port screw/knob (D Fig.1) and adding further lotion.
The remaining lotion reservoir is restricted from escaping by the passing of the flexible brush bristles through a concave hole ( E Fig.1). By extending the brush this action removes excess lotion from the bristles by causing them to fold backwards and scrape through the hole. By folding the bristles backwards this causes a restriction within the hole with the flexible brush body and the brush bristles thus blocking the remaining lotion.
The flexible brush has continuous bristles mounted/woven into a nylon cord body upto 50.0mm approx. from the handle/knob. This is to allow the brush to return completley and enable the closing plug/screw (A Fig.1) to be returned to its closed position When the flexible brush is retracted any remaining lotion around the brush exit is scraped back in by means of a tight fitting plug (A Fig.I) that pre-leads a closing screw.
To replenish the brush, allow it to return to the applicator housing by means of the tensioned clock spring (C FIg.1) that is loaded when the brush is intially extended.
To re-charge the brush shake the applicator.
The lotion is applied by passing the brush up, down and across the back and other parts of the body.

Claims (4)

1. FIRST CLAIM A method of applying lotion to ones self to parts of the body that cannot be reached by hand.

2. A method of applying lotion to ones self Claim 1 by a retractable applicator
3. A method of applying lotion to ones self Claim 2 by an applicator that is replennishable and that has a re-chargeable reservoir.
4. A method of applying lotion to ones self Claim 3 by an applicator that can be clipped to a belt or carried in a small bag.
