Abstract

A flexible protective sleeve (20) is stretched along a coiled service line (22) that is coupled between two components of an articulated vehicle, such as an articulated lorry, rigid truck/trailer combination, multiple trailers or any machinery having coiled service lines. At each end, the sleeve (20) has a cuff portion (12) which defines one or more V-shaped notches (24) separated by a corresponding number of open-ended seams (14) locating an attachment means (25). The V-shaped notches (24) are drawn together by the constriction of the attachment means (25) which also serves to connect the ends of the protective 10 sleeve (20) either to end portions of the service line (22) or an adjacent end connector (27). The flexible protective sleeve (20) defines a tensioned helical web (26) between the coils of the service line (22) thereby preventing intercalation with the coils of an adjacent coiled service line. By preventing intercalation, entanglement with adjacent coiled service lines is also prevented.
