Abstract
A battery holder C has at least one terminal B therein. Said terminal is held in place by an elongate flexible member E which may be a cord or a cable tie. A battery A when in use is held within said holder, the terminal of the holder and battery being in electrical contact see fig 1. The battery is removed from the holder by pulling on part of the flexible member D. As the battery is withdrawn the electrical contact is broken. The flexible member may be fitted with a ring pull F.
Description
* * 2449236 Battery Holder This invention relates to the holding and
removal of a PP3 (9 Volt) battery (IEC type references -6LR61, 6F22 and 6KR61).
When using a PP3 9 Volt battery to provide power for an electronic Guitar effects pedal the battery needs to be easily fitted and removed without the use of tools.
This invention provides for the battery A to be held rigidly in position by means of the connecting terminal B fixed to case C figure (1) and for its removal by pulling the nylon cable tie D figs (1) & (2).
Tie D can be a proprietary nylon cable tie or other flexible non-conducting material.
The connecting terminal B is mounted rigidly to the frame of the equipment by two cable ties E fig (1), which also lock the cable tie D into position.
The removing cable tie D has a small key ring F mounted on the end to allow a quick and easy grip on the tie D. When key ring F is pulled in direction of arrow on fig 2 the battery is disconnected from terminal B and can be removed from case C.
Claims (2)
- Claims 1. A 9V PP3 battery holder in which the means of removal is acable tie or string threaded between the terminals.
- 2. A 9V PP3 battery holder in which the removing cable tie or string in Claim 1 is pulled by means of a ring mounted on one end.Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows Claims "Battery holder having a flexible, non-conducting means of removing the battery, which passes between the two battery terminals and when pulled, applies opposite forces to the battery and Gonnecting terminal in order to separate them"
