Abstract

Apparatus (2) for assisting a person (4) to dress himself or herself with an item of clothing (6) which hangs from the waist, which apparatus (2) comprises a first clip (8) for clipping to a right side of the item of clothing, a second clip (12) for clipping to a left side of the item of clothing (6), and a pull member (16), the first and second clips (8,12) each comprise a grip-increasing arrangement (35) which causes their jaws (26,30) to grip the item of clothing (6) more tightly than when the jaws (26,30) are closed just by their spring biasing means (35).
