Abstract
A shopping bag carrier comprises an injection moulded plastic handle with a moulded grip on the underside, two hooks and a slot running down each side. In use, the carrier relieves pressure to a person's fingers, palms and hands.

ShoppinE BaE Carryin2 Handle: The product is manufactured from Polyethylene Polyvinyichioride and is of rigid construction.
It is moulded using heat in injection moulding, and cast in a steel or aluminium mould.
The two hooks underneath the round handle form part of the complete unit, and are not moulded separately.
There are two slots running the full length of the handle, (one on either side) which saves on construction materials, and reduces costs.
The strength.of the handles will each support a weight of lbs as will the hooks at their lowest point.
Should the handle need to be re-moulded due to manufacturing error, this figure will drop to 80 lbs at any of the above stress points.
The unit is round in construction and has rounded ends, with no sharp edges at any place on the unit.
The hooks are round in shape, ending in round ends.
The unit will be sold in units of 2 per card on plastic cards, either shrink wrapped or bubble packed. Small net bags are also an option, stapled onto a backing card, containing the advertising and R.R.P. if required by retailers.
The units will be available in either red / blue / green or yellow, and tinted to ensure that they are neon in appearance. More colours may be used in future, depending on demand.
Finger grips are moulded into the under side for comfort.
Dimensions are available on request.
Claims (6)
- Claims I. A shopping bag carrying handle comprising a handle with twohooks on the underside between which is a moulded finger grip to accommodate the fingers of either hand.A slot runs down each side of the handle.The handle is manufactured in plastic utilising the process of injection moulding.
- 2. A shopping bag carrying handle according to claim 1, comprising a round moulded plastic handle, which has rounded ends.
- 3. A shopping bag carrying handle according to claim 1, which has a slot running down both sides. The slots do not meet, and therefore are open to the outside of the handle, and do not meet in the middle. They have no function, other than to save on the amount of plastic used for construction.
- 4. A shopping bag carrying handle according to claim 1, in which the two hooks face each other, one on either side of the four moulded finger grips, at the end of the handle. The hooks are round in construction, ending in a rounded end, with no sharp edges.They form part of the handle, and are not moulded separately.
- 5. A shopping bag carrying handle according to claim 1, which has four moulded finger grips on the underside of the handle, between the two hooks.The moulded finger grips form part of the handle,and are not moulded separately.
- 6. A shopping bag carrying handle according to any of the preceding claims, which will be constructed in all of the following colours: Red I Yellow I Blue I Green.The colours will be bright colours, and although not luminous, will be bright similar to day-glo'.Other colours may be utilised at a later date, in addition to or in place of the above.
