Abstract

The wheels of a double rear wheel assembly for a heavy goods vehicle have a rubber ring 1 between their respective tyres 2. The ring 1, which lies below the outer periphery of the tyres 2, comprises inner and outer ring parts coupled by spokes to allow cooling air to the wheel brakes.

Description

WHEEL DEFENDER
This invention relates to a device for stopping bricks, rocks and mud from entering between the rear wheels of a HGV lorry.
When a HGV lorry goes off road to a building or land fill site it will sometimes get bricks and mud forced between the rear wheels causing danger on the highway.
This device solely compries of a inner and outer rubber ring with rubber spokes.
The rubber ring fitts between the dual rear tyres of the HGV lorry and is shallower in depth than the tyres on either side.
The rubber spokes act as a method not to interfear with the cooling of the brakes as a solid rubber ring might.
The invention will now be described by the way of drawing and reference to the drawings.
FIGURE 1 The drawing shows a side view of the wheel defender with rubber spokes between the outer and inner rings.

Claims (2)

-- CLAIMS
1. A round rubber ring to stop bricks rocks and mud from entering between the rear wheels of a HGV lorry.
2. A round rubber ring according to claim I that is shallower in diameter of the rear tyres that it will be between on a HGV lorry.
3 A round rubber ring according to claim 2 with rubber spokes between the outer and inner rubber rings.
