Abstract
A toilet seat incorporating a localised air extraction system comprises an air vent hose connected to an extractor unit (2) which vents air to outside though a hose (4) or through a filter (5) and may be activated by means of a switch (3).

DESCRiPTION.
LOCALISEJ) AIR EXTRACTION.
Ths invention relates to air extraction in toilet areas. Unpleasant odours can be produced when using a toilet, present solutions are: either masking with an aerosol spray or whole room air extraction, both of which are often unsatisfactory.
This invention overcomes the problem by building air extraction into the toilet seal or building into the seat an air extraction filter system. The air extraction unit feeds the air to outside atmosphere or filters it locally to nullify any odours. The units can be manufactured with the seats or fitted as after market' add ons.
The power is supplied either through mains' or battery powered -the switch being operated either manually or weight activated.
As shown in figure 1 the toilet seat incorporates an air vent hose (1) connected to an extractor fan (2) which is activated by a switch (3).
The air vent hose is directed to an outside vent (4) or a filter (5). 2.
Unpleasant odours can be produced when people are using a toilet. Present solutions to this problem are: masking of odours with sanitary deodorizers or air extraction of the entire room.
The present invention seeks to solve this problem by incorporating vents (1) into a toilet seat which are in turn connected to an extractor unit (2) which extracts air from around the seat through a tube (3) to the outside atmosphere, or through a filter (4) to nullifr any unpleasant odours. The extractor (2) unit can be either mains or battery operated and be activated by a weight sensitive switch (5) or by a manually operated switch set into the seat. The device can be manufactured with the seat or affixed as an after market' add on.
