Abstract

244,173. Vargas, A. M. Sept. 12, 1924. Sanitary and hygienic devices.-A movable disinfecting cover for the mouthpiece of a telephone, adapted to be automatically swung away when the receiver is removed from its hook or grasped, is counterbalanced or spring loaded. As shown, the hinged cover 2, containing a disinfecting pad 4, is connected by pinions 5, racks 6 and a Bowden wire 7 to the receiver hook 8. Loading springs 9, Fig. 3, counterbalance the weight of the cover. In a modification, the cover is operated by a grip lever on the receiver.
