Abstract

243,778. Trafford, W. Aug. 2, 1924. Laminated springs. - A curved laminated vehicle spring a, attached at its ends to a vehicle body, is mounted on the axle with its centre of curvature above the base of the bodv by means of a support f curved in the same direction as the spring, the support being proportioned so that as the load increases the effective length of the spring is gradually decreased until approximately the whole length of its length contacts with the support but the spring retains sufficient curvature to prevent overstressing. The spring is clamped to the support and axle by a clip comprising a plate h having depending flanges to engage the axle and a projection p to engage a recess in the support f.
