Abstract

243,731. Jebsen, S. F. Nov. 25, 1924, [Convention date]. Non-metallic elastic bodies and cores; rims; tread projections and surfaces; tyres with cooling means.-A cushion tyre is formed with radial cavities 4 arranged in transverse and circumferential series in alignment with tread apertures. The tyre base is reinforced with one or more bands 6, Fig. 2, or 6, 6<1>, Fig. 4, formed of meshed metal strips or wires, or by a perforated metal band. The tyre is secured to a rim 9, with or without a canvas liner 8, the rim being formed with bosses adapted to enter the recesses 4. As shown in Fig. 4, projecting tread blocks 11 may be fitted; and each cavity 4 may be provided with more than one partition or closure 5 to allow for wear. For cooling purposes, air-vents 10 are provided in the rim 9.
