Abstract
A method in a vehicle, a computer program, a computer program product and a vehicle (A) for determining position of a movable operating mechanism (1) connected to a core (2) in a coil (3), comprising the steps of: generating intervals of shorter pulses and intervals of wider pulses to repeatedly close a switch (4), measuring time for the voltage to reach a predetermined limit value every time the switch is closed, determining, in response to the measured time, a coarse value of the position of the movable core, measuring at the intervals of wider pulses the voltage at maximum steady-state value of the current through the coil, determining, in response to the measured voltage at maximum steady-state value, a coil temperature compensation coefficient, and compensating the coarse value of the position of the core with the coefficient to obtain a fine value of the position of the core.
