Abstract

The attachable louvre/vertical holder consists of two parts, a "u" shaped holder and a bracket attachment. The holder alone can be screw or adhesive fixed to the inside of a window structure to hold back blinds. Alternatively, the holder can be clipped into the bracket attachment which is screw or adhesive mounted at 90 degrees to the window to hold blinds that hang beside the window.

Description

ATTACHABLE LOUVRE/VERTICAL BLIND HOLDER This invention relates to an
attachable louvre/vertical blind holder.

Louvre blinds, are a specific style of window blind also known as vertical blinds which hang from a rail and can be controlled by hand by the use of pulley cords.

You can tilt the panels of the blind in order to alter the amount of incoming light or compel or detract them along the rail (so as to close and reopen).

When the blinds are pulled to the ends of the rail, they hang freely, this could be within a window structure or immediate to it (as in a conservatory) or even at an entrance to a room. Due to the blind's vertical panels often being made of fabric they are susceptible to movement from wind or interference which could result in them becoming a nuisance, dirty or damaged. At the moment a hook and string tie is the only method available to hold this type of blind. This can be impractical, fiddly and unsightly.

According to the present invention there is an attachable louvre blind holder comprising of a "u" shaped metal or plastic holder with countersunk holes and a metal or plastic bracket attachment that the former can be clipped into and out of.

The holder itself can be simply screw fixed to the inside of a window structure and when the blinds are tilted in parallel with the holder they are simply slid behind its arm, protected and restrained. In some cases louvre blinds hang immediate to a window with no possibility to fit the holder in parallel with a tilted blind, in such instances (mostly in conservatories) the bracket attachment is mounted using a strong adhesive backing or screw fixed if necessary beside the tilted blinds. The holder then simply clips into the mounted bracket attachment and the blinds can be held neatly in place.

A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which.

Figure 1 shows a plan view of the "u" shaped holder with countersink holes.

Figure 2 shows the side view of the same holder, inverted.

Figure 3 In separate parts. The holder as in Fig 1/2 and the bracket attachment.

Figure 4 Illustrates the holder clipped into the bracket attachment.

Figure 5 Illustrates just the holder (fig I) screw fixed to the inner window frame.

Figure 6 Illustrates the attachable holder (fig 4) mounted at 9Odegrees to the wall where the blinds are on the outside of the window structure.

Referring to the drawing the attachable louvre/vertical blind holder consists of a "u" shaped countersunk holder 7 and a bracket attachment 8. Singularly the holder 7 can be screw fixed to the inside of a window structure 12 so that the blinds 10 can be slid behind the holder 7, as illustrated in Fig 5. In order to remove the blinds 10 they are simply slid back out from behind the holder 7 and left free to hang illustrated at the opposite side of the rail 9 also in Fig5.

In a situation where louvre blinds 10 hang outside of a window structure 12 the holder 7 can be bracket attached 8 and wall mounted 13 as shown in fig 6. The holder 7 is clipped into the bracket attachment 8 which is then mounted (either using adhesive or screw fixings) at 90 degrees to the wall 13 surrounding the window 11 whilst remaining in parallel to the blinds 10. The blinds 10 can then be held neatly behind the holder 7 by sliding them behind the holder 7 in the same way as in Fig 5. Likewise they can be slid back out again in order to close the blinds 10.

Claims (1)

 1.
CLAIMS

1 An attachable louvre/vertical blind holder comprising a "u" shaped holder, and a bracket attachment, has means for holding or restraining louvre/vertical window blinds.

2 An attachable louvre/vertical blind holder as claimed in claim I, can be screw or adhesive fixed to the inside of a surrounding window structure and also at 90 degrees to the window structure so that louvre/vertical blinds can be slid behind and held.

3 An attachable louvre/vertical blind holder as claimed in claim I or 2, is the joining of the "u" shaped holder and the bracket attachment which clip together using no other bondiment.

4 The "u" shaped holder part of the attachable louvre/vertical blind holder as claimed in claim 3 can be singularly screw or adhesive fixed to the inside of a window structure in order to hold louvre blinds in place.

An attachable louvre/vertical blind holder as claimed in claim 4 is demountable or remountable wherein the holder can be clipped or un clipped from the bracket attachment and screwed or unscrewed from the surrounding window structure. It is moveable and removable.

6 An attachable louvre/vertical blind holder as claimed in claim 1,2 or 3 holds louvre blinds neatly behind the holder and protects them from unwanted damage.

7 An attachable louvre/vertical blind holder substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1-6 of the accompanying drawing.
