Abstract

A recycling bin preferably consists of multiple containers for storing segregated waste. The recycling bin may include a compactor device which is operated when a predetermined volume is reached. The recycling unit preferably recognises a plurality of users who are identified by either swipe card or keypad entry; this enables a monetary reward incentive to be given to the user. Scanners and weighing sensors may be provided to determine the material type and weight.

<p>THE DESCRIPTION</p>
<p>Multiple Recycling Bin The invention relates to a recycling unit which holds all types or a selection of items such as containers, paper, material, glass, plastics, ceramics, metals, wood and organics in a single or separate compartments within one unit and uses user identification methods to allocate points for items deposited.</p>
<p>Recycling units are in common use but it is time consuming and depends on the goodwill of individuals. The units aim is to make recycling easier, quicker and to provide an incentive for users by way of reward.</p>
<p>The object of this invention is to provide one recycling unit that will enable a mixture of contents to be placed into the unit's holding area (collection bin(s)).</p>
<p>Users enter their' identification information onto the unit's keypad or barcode identification system, swipe card or similar technology is used to recognise the user account.</p>
<p>Users place items into the holding area(s).</p>
<p>Users accounts' or reward cards are credited depending on the items recycled.</p>
<p>Users are issued with a deposit receipt based on a points or reward system.</p>
<p>An optional, automatic crusher or compressor system may be included so that items in the storage containers are compacted when it reaches and pre-defined capacity or is instructed to do so. An optional scanner and weighing system may be included in order to identify the item deposited.</p>
<p>Preferably the unit is made of metal or durable plastic or any similar material.</p>
<p>A detailed description of the unit follows:</p>
<p>The user uses a swipe card, barcode or enters account information onto the unit's data entry system or merely activates the system.</p>
<p>Once all products are deposited, points are allocated per item and credited' to the user's account or a receipt is issued. An optional scanner system may be included to identify material type.</p>
<p>When the storage units reach a pre-determined storage capacity, an optional crusher or compactor is initiated.</p>

  1. <p>CLAIMS</p>
    <p>1. A single recycle unit with multiple or single deposit bin(s).</p>
    <p>2. A unit as claimed in 1 where a user enters their account information or uses swipe card technology or merely activates the unit in order to deposit items.</p>
    <p>3. A unit as claimed in 1 and 2 that prints a deposit receipt andlor allocates points or credits based on a reward system or similar concept.</p>
    <p>4. A unit as claimed in any preceding claim that uses swipe card, bar code recognition or keypad input or similar technology in order to identify the user account.</p>
    <p>5. A unit as claimed in any preceding claim that uses an optional crusher or compressor technologies.</p>
    <p>6. A unit as claimed in any preceding claim that uses an optional scanner system and technology in order to identify items being deposited 7. A unit as claimed in any preceding claim that uses an optional weighing system in order to weigh items being deposited.</p>
    <p>8. A unit as claimed in any proceeding claim which is made from metal, plastic or any similar material.</p>
    <p>9. A unit substantially as herein described above.</p>
