Abstract
An integrated disc jockey (DJ) duel mixer system comprises two identical Duel mixers, Mixer 1 and Mixer 2, which control the audio signals coming from Deck 1, 2, 3 and 4. The mixers combine signals from decks 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and send them to the control box. The control box redirects the signals back into the mixers where they are controlled by the extra fader. The automated fader connections control the movement of both the extra cross faders, allowing then to move at the same time. The Duel mixer system can also be configured with two identical separate extra cross fader boxes, Extra CF Box 1 and Extra CF Box 2, and a Control Box. The signal from the deck is sent into the main mixers, Mixer 1 and Mixer 2, as normal and then the combined signal from the main output is sent into the control box. The control box redirects the signals into Extra EF 1 and 2. These extra faders then control the final mix which when panned left may control deck 1 and 2 and panned right will control 3 and 4. The headphone mix out is sent into the EF boxes so it can be controlled and combined with a second pair of decks, then listened to through the EF boxes headphone output. The automated fader connections control the movement of both the extra cross faders. The system may also have battle lights.
Description
Background
This invention relates to a pair of Di Mixers.
The Duel mixer designed to give extra control over 4 turntables.
Statement of Invention
To create extra control over four turntables, the Duel Mixer uses an extra cross fader and a control box to combine and direct the extra signals. The extra cross fader is automated to allow greater control.
Advantages The addition of the Duel mixer will allow greater control over four turntables.
The extra fader will allow control over a second pair of turntables.
The control box will control the extra signal paths that are needed to make the extra fader fle automatea fader will ensure chat the cross fader positi3n s the same on both the Duet mixers allowing the whole design to work properly.

Description
The Duel Mixer system is a way 0fcontrolliflg four turntables with the use of an extra automated faders and a control box.
This system can be used as an add-on to current mixers or as an all in one system where it is integrated into current models.
Diagram descriptions:
The integrated system FlG.l shows the top view of my new design for a DJ mixer. This mixer would be used as a pair with another identical mixer being used by a second DJ. The main difference between the new design and the current models is the addition of an extra cross fader, which is used to control the sound coming from a second pair of decks. This design allows the DJ to quickly swap between their decks (1 & 2) and between the sound coming from decks 3 & 4. This cross fader is automated, meaning that when one cross fader is moved on one mixer, the other cross fader on the second mixer would move at the same time. The automated action is used to keep constant control over the position of the cross fader on both mixers allowing both DJ's to see what the other one is doing. This also allows the main out put of the 4 decks to come out of either of the individual mixers.
FIG.2 shows the front of the mixer which has the normal headphone output. Having all four signals running through each individual mixer would also allow the DJ's to listen to their own decks and the output from the other pair of decks in their headphones.
FIG.3 shows the rear of the mixer. The rear will have two stereo inputs for two decks, one stereo output which will be used to send the combined signal from the two decks to a contrci box and a pair cf stereo inputs to receive a return signal from the conrol bcx This diagram also shows a connection which will be used to synchronize the automated faders.
Page 3 FIG.4 shows the front view of the control box. The control box is used to collect all four audio signals from the four turntables and redirect them back into the pair of mixers to allow each DJ to have control over each others mix via the second cross fader. The control box also controls the automated faders accepting and sending signals via two leads from each of the individual mixers in order for both cross faders to move at the same time.
FIG.5 shows the rear view of the control box which has the two stereo inputs which will be sent from the two mixers.
FIG.6 shows the signal path that the sound would take and how it would be controlled by the two mixers and the control box.
The turntables would be plugged straight in to the main mixer as normal. The mix for one pair of turntables would be controlled in the same way as current mixers and the signal would then be send via the main outputs into the control box. When it reaches the control box, the signals from the main outputs of both mixers are combined and then sent back to the mixers, where the signal is then controlled by the second fader. If the second fader is panned left it will play decks 1 & 2 and if it is panned right it will play 3 & 4. The final signal will then be sent from either mixer 1 or mixer 2 as both will have the same final output. The diagram also shows the automated fader connections.
Page 4 The Separates configuratOfl This system would also need a control box which would be exactly the same as previously described in FIG.415 FIG.7 shows the top view of the extra fader box as used in the separates configuratiohl.
The extra fader is uscd in the same way as the combined system but can work with any current mixer. The diagram show the cue buttons for the headphone mix which include the sound from the second pair of decks. The headphone signal would be taken directly from the main mixer and plugged into the fader box allowing you to control the cue for the pair of decks you are using from the main mixer and then combine it with the signal from the control box which will be the second pair of decks. The battle button could be an optional extra. These could be controlled the same electronic lead the controls the automated faders. All this would be is a DJ would have the option to select a red or green button to let the other DJ know when he/she is in the mix or wants control over the extra fader to give greater control and understanding between the two DJ's.
FIG.8 shows the front view of the fader box which has a headphone output and input also the main output. The extra fader box has an input to receive the headphone mix from the main mixer to combine the signal with the sound from the second pair of decks and can be listened to by plugging headphones into the headphone output. Both separate fader boxes have a main output, both of which will be identical so the final output can be taken from either one.
FIG.9 shows the rear of the fader box. This has a pair of stereo inputs to receive the signals from the control box and an electronic connection which runs between the control box and the extra fader to control the automated fader.
FIG. I 0 is a Signal path diagram of the separates configuration. The signal is sent from the decks to the main mixers, then from the main mhe to the control box. The signal is then directed into the extra fader boxes where it is controlled by the crosr fader, The fln signal can be taken from either of the extra fader boxes.
