Abstract

A baby guard includes attachment means 3,5 for attaching the unit to a pushchair 6 enabling the upper torso and head area of the baby or child to be protected whilst being transported. Side panels 1 are attached to the main front frame by means of hinges 2 to allow the unit to fold flat for easy storage.

Description

Baby Guard This invention relates to the issue of safety when a baby or
child is in a pushchair.
When a baby or child is being transported in a pushchair their head and torso area are in a vulnerable position. The head is at the perfect level for attacks by dogs, fpr,being struck by stones or debris from passing vehicles or from human contact of hands, cigarettes or bags.
To safeguard from these dangers the present invention proposes a guard that will protect the head and torso area. The baby guard will shield the upper torso and head area of the baby or child whilst seated in the pushchair.
Preferably, the sides are made of a clear material so as not to impair on the vision the baby or child.
Preferably, the bar structure at the front will have playthings attached for the entertainment of the baby or child.
An example of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows a side view of a baby guard attached to a pushchair Figure 2 shows a side view of a baby guard according to the invention; and Figure 3 shows a front view of a baby guard with the addition of optional toy bars.
in figure 1, a pushchair 6 is shown with a baby guard attached. This shows how the baby or child 7 are protected at the sides by side panels 1 and from the front by the main frame bar 4.
The side panel's lare molded to fit the contours of the pushchair. They are fitted with clips 3 which attach the unit to the pushchair holding the side panels 1 firmly in place.
They are attached to the main frame 4 by hinges 2 which allow the whole unit to fold flat, when not in use, for easy storage. The main frame is inserted into pre-formed holes in the tray of the pushchair 5.
Figure 2 shows a side view of the baby guard according to the invention. Preferably the side panels I will be made from a clear material so as not to obstruct the view of the baby or child.
Figure 3 shows a front view of the baby guard with the addition of toy bars for the entertainment of the baby or child

Claims (2)

  1. Claims 1 A baby guard, for protecting the head and torso area of a baby or
    child whilst seated in a pushchair, with attachment means for attaching the unit to a pushchair and with means such that it can be folded, once removed, for easy storage.
  2. 2 A baby guard according to claim 1 with side panels made from a clear material so as not to obstruct the view of the baby or child 3 A baby guard according to claim 2 with additional bars on the front frame providing toys for the entertainment of the baby of child.
