Abstract

A lock includes a case having a shackle 20 and a bottom plate 17 is connected to an underside of the case. A cylinder 12 is received in the case and a top member A is mounted on a top of the cylinder. The top member A has a protrusion 155 on a top thereof and a recess 153 is defined in an inside thereof. A driving member 11 is connected to the top member and has a torsion spring 113 connected to an underside thereof. Two beads 112 connected to sides of the driving member 11 engage notches 202,203 in the shackle and disengage when the member is turned. A positioning member 13 is connected to the cylinder 12 and an element 131 is pivotably connected to a top of the positioning member. A peripheral member 14 is connected to an outside of the cylinder. The cylinder can be replaced. Rotation of cylinder 12 causes element 131 to engage portion 154 of a T-shaped notch 152 in the top member A to turn member 11.

Description

LOCK WITH REPLACEABLE CYLINDER
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a lock whose cylinder is cooperated with a top member and a peripheral member so that the cylinder can be replaceable.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
A conventional lock is disclosed in Fig. 6 and generally includes a case 50 with a shaclde 51 connected to a top of the case 50 and one end of the shackle 51 is movably positioned in the case 50 and the other end of the shackle 51 is movably inserted in a hole 501 in the case 50. A cylinder 52 is received in the case 50 and is cooperated with the positioning member 53 which positions the cylinder 52 and a driving member 54 is connected to a top of the cylinder 52. The cylinder 52 is fixed in the case 50 and has to be cooperated with the positioning member 53 and the driving member 54. The cylinder 52 is not replaceable so that if the cylinder 52 is broken, the whole lock has to be discarded.
The present inventian intends to provide a lock that has a replaceable cylinder cooperated with a top member and a peripheral member.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to lock that comprises a case with a shackle connected to a top thereof and a cylinder received in the case. A bottom plate is connected to an underside thereof and a protection plate having a key hole is rotatably connected to the bottom plate so as to protect the cylinder.
A top member is mounted on the top of the cylinder and has a protrusion on a top thereof and a recess defined in an inside thereof. A T-shapcd notch and a space are respectively defined in a surface defining the recess. The T-shaped notch has a contacting portion. A driving member is connected to a top of the top member and has a torsion spring connected to an underside thereof. Two beads are connected to two sides of the driving member so as to respectively engage with first and second notches defined in the shackle when the shackle is in locked position. A diving portion is connected to an underside of the driving member. A positioning member is connected to the cylinder and a push board is pivotably connected to a top of the positioning member. A peripheral member is connected to an outside of the cylinder.
The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Fig. 1 is an exploded view to show the lock of the present invention; Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the cylinder, the peripheral member, the top member and the positioning member; Fig. 3 is a side view to show the shackle is in locked position; Fig. 4 is a side view to show the shackle is in unlocked position; Fig. 5 is an exploded view to show another embodiment of the cylinder, the peripheral member, the top member and the positioning member, and Fig. 6 is an exploded view to show a conventional lock.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
Referring to Figs. I to 3, the lock of the present invention comprises a case having a hollow interior 104 and a cylinder 12 is received in the interior of the case 10. A shackle 20 has a first end inserted in a first passage 101 defined in a top of the case 10 and a first groove 201 is defined in an outer periphery of the first end of the shackle 20. A first notch 203 is defined in a higher position of an inside of the first end of the shackle 20. A spring 19 is connected between an end surface of the first passage 101 and the first end of the shackle 20. A second end of the shackle 20 has a second notch 202 defined in an inside thereof and the second notch 202 is located on the same horizontal plane with the first notch 203. The second end of the shackle 20 is movably inserted in a second passage 1010 defined in a top of the case 10.
A bottom plate 17 is connected to a bottom part 103 of the case 10 so as to be connected to an underside of the case 10. The bottom plate 17 has a first hole 173 and a second h&e 171 defined therethrough. A bolt 18 extends through the first hole 173 and fixes the bottom plate 17 on the underside of the case 10. The bolt 18 has a flat head which is in flush with the bottom plate 17. A flange 172 extends inward from an inner periphery of the second hole 171 and a protection plate 16 is rotatably supported on the flange 172 and has a key hole. The protection plate 16 is freely rotatable so that if someone tries to use a drill to break the cylinder, the protection plate 16 is co-rotated with the bit so that the cylinder 12 can be protected.
A top member "A" is mounted on a top of the cyiinder 12 and has a protrusion 155 on a top thereof and a recess 151 defined in an inside thereof. A T-shaped notch 152 and a space 153 are defined in a surface defining the recess 151.
The T-shaped notch 152 has a contacting portion 154. A driving member 11 is connected to a top of the top member "A" and has a torsion spring 111 connected to an underside thereof. Two beads 112 are connected to two sides of the driving member 11 and are respectively engaged with the first and second notches 203, 202 when the shackle 20 is in locked position as shown in Fig. 3. A diving portion 113 is connected to an underside of the driving member 11.
A positioning member 13 is connected to the cylinder 12 and a push board 131 is pivotably connected to a top of the positioning member 13. A peripheral member 14 is connected to an outside of the cylinder 12 and has a protrusion 141 on a top thereof. The case 10 has a face hole 102 defined in a front face thereof and a pin 180 extends through the face hole 102 and is engaged with the groove 201 when the shackle 20 is in unlocked position as shoivn in Fig. 4.
When using a key to unlock the lock, the cylinder 12 is rotated and the push board 131 drives the contactin? portion 154 of the top member "A" so that the protrusion 155 rotates the diving portion 113 of the driving member 11. The rotation of the top member 11 makes first and second notches 203, 202 be away from the beads 202 so that the shackle 20 can be pulled upward to unlock the lock.
Fig. 5 shows another embodiment wherein the positioning member 13' does not have the push board 131 so that the positioning member 13' is rotated by the lop member "B" and the connection member "C". The top member "B" and the connection member "C" are sold with the lock so that the users can replace another cylinder.
While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
