Walls. - A water-cooled furnace wall is provided on the surface exposed to the fire with shallow corrugations, channels, or recesses in which are arranged water tubes, as shown in Fig. 2. The recesses are of greater curvature than the tubes which are exposed to direct or reflected heat over substantially the whole of their surface.
