Abstract

A fence comprises elongated "S" shaped panels attached at each end to fencing posts or to an inner frame which in turn is attached to fencing posts, the panels being spaced apart to allow wind to pass there between. The panels are preferably attached using moulded fixtures at the end of each panel. The panels may be orientated vertically or horizontally, between 20 and 30 degrees from either axis, with each panel preferably partially overlapping its neighbour. The panels may be constructed from man-made or natural materials and produced in a variety of colours and natural material effects.

Description

VENTING FENCE
The present Invention relates to a fence of a type which Includes fixed panels that allow wind to vent there through Fences act to screen, shield, enclose or divide, but typical fence designs are often found to suffer from either parbal or complete structural failure under windy conditions The object of the present nvenbon Is to provide a fence that allows that allows wind to vent through it, thereby reducing the risk of consequential structural damage or failure, whilst providing an effective means of screening Further, that In the event of partial damage, Individual venting panels are able to be replaced without the need to replace an entire section of the fence.
According to the present Invention there Is provided a fence composing fixed, spaced elongate panels arranged to allow wind to pass there between the panels having a substantially S-shaped cross-sechon and being attached at either end to a fence post or to a frame which frame Is attached to fence posts The present Invention will now be described by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, In which F'gure 1 shows a top view of the pre-formed end of a venting panel, figure 2 shows an end cross-sectional view of a venting panel; figure 3 shows an end cross-sechonal view of the position of fixed venting panels, figure 4 shows a front offset view of a venting fence with panels In a horizontal configuration, figure 5 shows a front offset view of a venting fence with panels In both a horizontal and vertical confgurabon As shown In figure 3, a fence typically consists of fixed elongated 's' shaped panels (2) positioned between 20 and 30 degrees from the vertical axis when viewed from the end, thus allowing wind to vent there through, with each panel partially overlapping its Immediate neghbour, thereby providing an effective means of screening Figures 1 and 2 show how the fencing panels (2) may be secured to a post or fencing frame through the preferred use of pre-formed moulded fixtures (1) located at each end of a panel Figure 4 shows fencing panels (2) secured to a fencing post or frame (3) In a horizontal plane, whereas figure 5 shows fencing panels (2) secured to a fencing post or frame (3) In both horizontal and vertical planes - 2

Claims (1)

1 A fence comprising fixed, spaced elongate panels arranged to allow wind to pass there between by having a substantially S-shaped cross-sector and being attached at either end to a fence post or to a frame which frame Is attached to fence posts 2 A fence as claimed In Claim 1, where panels are attached to the fencing posts or the frame by means of pre-formed ends on the panels 3 A fence as claimed In Claim 1 or 2, where the fencing panels are mutually Inclined in use at between 20 and 30 degrees and each spaced from its Immediate neighbour 4 A fence substantially as herenbefore described and as Illustrated In the accompanying drawings
