Abstract

A stand for vertically storing wellington boots comprises a base (b) and a plurality of upright supporting rods (a,c) over which boots may be placed to dry. The stand may be freestanding or mounted to a wall.

Description

241 835 1 Wellington Boot Rack This invention relates to a device for the
vertical storage of Wellington boots, it can be attached to a wall or free-standing.
During wet, snowy or muddy weather, wellington boots can become a storage and cleaning problem due to the outside dirt.
With no added support, they can fall over, get wet inside the lining, dirty or if left, allow insects to nest inside.
To overcome this, the present invention serves as a vertical rack for boots to be stored in an inverted position, in pairs, accomodating different boot sizes.
This invention can fit neatly against any wall internal or external reducing the need for larger storage space.
The boots hang flush against the vertical rods ensuring the inner lining is dry.
The sole of the boot is uppermost enabling easy access for cleaning.
This invention has a kit for attachment to allow it to serve as a freestanding model.
This invention can also be used in the back of vehicles for storage of boots during transit.
This invention would be equally advantageous in places where storage of boots in a larger number is required i.e. Schools, industry, riding stablest farms, as well as a household product for singular or family usage.
Aesthetically, this invention could be colour coded for safety reasons in industry, hospitals etc. It could be brightly coloured to help educate children in colour recognition. It could display icons or even Braille for people with an impairment.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 shows the vertical rods (A) attached to the base (B) to accomodate an adult sized boot.
Figure 2 shows the vertical rods (C) attached to the base (B) to accomodate a child sized boot.
Figure 3 shows vertical rods (A) and (C) attached to the base (B) to accomodate an adult and child sized boot.
Figure 4 shows an optional safety top which can be placed over the vertical rods when not in use. (D) illustrates a safety top for 1 pair of boots (E) illustrates a safety top for more than 1 pair of the same shed boots.
Figure 5 shows an example of the invention for wall mounted storage.
Figure 6 shows an example of the additional freestanding kit with boot shaped supports that can be attached onto the base (B)
