Abstract

A haemorrhoid relief device comprising a PVC pad incorporating a laminate or other material which effectively reflects cold temperature and a harness 3 to house gel ice packs or an instant cold pack. The pad may have a harness 3 to house the cold packs with either an adhesive backing 6 or straps (11, 12 fig 5) which fasten to a waist belt. Alternatively the cold packs may be sealed in the device during production. Prior to insertion into the harness 3 the gel ice packs may be placed in the freezer or the instant cold pack may be squeezed to cool. The sealed device may be cooled in the freezer or squeezed to cool prior to use. The PVC pad may contain bacteriostat or fungicide and meet safety standards. The pad may be washable.

Fig 5. reference ret 11 2 straps to front, looped ret 12 1 strap to rear, looped Fig 6. illustrates a belt to take the loops at the end of front (hg 5. ref if) and rear straps (Fig ref f2). The belt (Fig 6) to be secured around one's waist.
Fig 6. reference ret 13: belt to take loops of front and rear straps Fig 7. illustrates an Instant Cold Pop Pack. This Pop Pack can be used in place of gel ice pack. It is a method by squeezing the Instant Cold Pop Pack; it becomes ice cold retaining the degree of coldness required, for 12 minutes.
This would have the advantage of not requiring the use of a freezer.
Fig 7. reference ref 14 Instant Cold Pop Pack Fig 8. illustrates a third version, a fully sealed harness.
Fig 8. reference ref] 5 'illustrates the gel ice pack/'nstant cold pop pack through the fully sealed harness, packs sealed in at production stage Fig 9. illustrates the side view of fully sealed harness with inserted Instant Cold Pop Pack (can also take the gel ice packs) This invention has been developed for a fast relief solution to haemorrhoids by reducing the haemorrhoid swelling.
By reducing the haemorrhoid swelling this enables the person to feel neck less discomfort.
Conventional methods are as follows: a. GP advises along with the conventional haemorrhoid cream and suppositories, the use of a bag of frozen peas against the haemorrhoid which does reduce the swelling faster than the cream.
b. In Hospitals they use another makeshift method of a rubber glove filled with square ice cubes tying the end of the glove and placing on the haemorrhoid.
Neither method is sterile and has no means of support being held on the haemorrhoid by the person suffering from haemorrhoids. Conventional methods include suppositories and creams but the fastest relief by far is a cold compress applied to the haemorrhoid.
Our invention ensures a comfortable, discreet, hygienic and effective solution in the relief of haemorrhoids and the advantages over conventional methods are: a. fastest relief of haemorrhoids.
b. haemorrhoids affects approximately 8 million people In the UK alone and it is also a common ailment in pregnant women. Pregnant women may not wish to consider using the conventional methods of creams and suppositories but would consider a method such as our invention which has no side effects and is comfortable to use.
How it works? 2 gel ice packs measuring within the range of and up to 7.5 inches x 4 inches (Fig 2. ret 7) are placed in the freezer an hour before use. 2 gel ice packs to be used on top of each other. The 2 gel ice packs when required are placed in our PVC gel pack harness (Fig 1. ret 3) incorporated in our PVC Pad a grade 5407 cadmium and lead free phthalate plasticised PVC him or any other material (Fig f. ret f.) The PVC Pad has an adhesive back with release paper (Fig 3. ref By to enable one to secure our PVC Pad to underwear. It is advisable to use the gel ice packs (Fig 2. ref 7) on a 20 minute on/off basis. 20 minutes of wear is advisable at one time to retain the degree of coldness required to reduce the swelling. This method can be used again and again until swelling and pain subsides. Disposable version.
Another version has the 2 gel ice packs (Fig. ret 7), the 2 gel ice packs to be used on top of each other and completely sealed in our PVC Pad at production (Fig ref At) with an adhesive strip on the PVC Pad to secure to underwear. The completely sealed PVC Pad to be placed in the freezer an hour before use. Disposable version.
Another version has 2 gel ice packs (Fig 2. ref 7) which are placed in the freezer an hour before use. 2 gel ice packs to be used on top of each other. The 2 gel ice packs when required are placed in our PVC gel pack harness (Fig ?. ret 3) incorporated in our PVC Pad (Fig t. ret f.) This version of the Pad has PVC on both sides with no adhesive backing and has two straps coming off the front of Pad looped (Fig 5. ret 11) one strap from the rear looped (Fig. 5. ref f2) to marry into a belt around a one's waist (Fig 6.
ref. 13). This can be used without the need for underwear - hospital use? It is advisable to use the gel ice packs (Fig ret 7) on a 20 minute on/off basis. 20 minutes of wear is advisable at one time to retain the degree of coldness required to reduce the swelling. This method can be used again and again until swelling and pain subsides. The PVC Pad is suitable for washing at 60 degrees. This version will also take the Instant Cold Pop Pack (see below Instant Cold Pop Pack) Another version uses the Instant Cold Pop Pack measuring in the range of and up to 7.5 finches x 4 inches (Fig 7 ref 14) completely sealed in our PVC Pad at production (Fig B. ret 15) with an adhesive strip on the PVC Pad to secure to underwear The Instant Cold Pop Pack is a method in which by squeezing the Instant Cold Pop Pack it becomes ice cold with a temperature of minus 4 Celsius without the use of a freezer. The degree of coldness required is retained for 12 minutes. Disposable version.
Another version has the Instant Cold Pop Pack placed in our PVC gel pack harness (Fig oaf 3) incorporated in our PVC Pad (Fig If) The PVC Pad has an adhesive back with release paper (Fig 3. If B) to enable one to secure our PVC Pad to underwear. The Instant Cold Pop Pack retains a degree of coldness required for reduction of swelling of 12 minutes. After the 12 minutes should the person require further relief and additional reduction of swelling, the Instant Cold Pop Pack should be removed and another Instant Cold Pack inserted. This method can be used again and again until swelling and pain subsides.
Disposable version.
(Fig If 10) shows the reflector of corvin PP-Q 53 gm laminate or other material which is a particularly effective reflector in transmitting cold temperature to the body and reduces condensation on the underwear side keeping underwear dry.
