Abstract

A back support for a bath that provides support to a bather's back and protects the bather from hurting themselves on the bath taps. The support has a body panel with 4 supporting arms on the back of the panel that detachably attached the support to the inside of the bath. Preferably the arms are extendable to fit any bath. The body of the support and two of the legs may be hinged to allow the support to be folded compactly for storage (Fig 5). The body of the support may have holes to allow the water to pass through.

Description

DESCRIPTION
The main body of the bath seat, which is designed to be slightly larger than the average man's back, has holes in the bottom to allow water to pass through, it is constructed of three sections! folding in two places using two pairs of hinges, thus allowing the seat to be stored; it is made of hardened moulded stain resistant, mould resistant plastic, shaped for comfort for an adult back; there are four arms on the back of the seat, two at the top and two at the bottom, they are positioned to absorb back force and down forces exerted by being leant upon; the upper arms are housed in a long squared oblong housing of the same plastic as the seat, these two arm housings are connected to the seat by a hinge which allows them to be folded down for storage, around the base of the arm housings is a square collar which the a, m housing cart be sects, ely fixed when irt use, a hole on the i,n.ner side arid clip on the collar allow for the housings to be secured; the lower arms are housed in oblong housings which taper into the seat as they are moulded onto the back of the seat; with both sets of arms, the inner arms are unscrewed and thus extend outwards to secure tightly against (in the case of the upper arms), the back of the bath and (in the case of the lower arms) the side of the bath; rubber suckers at the end of all four arms secure them to the inside of the bath 2.

Statement of invention
A storable bath seat, which fits into any bath at the 'taps end', for safety and comfort.

Claims (1)

  1. This is the first fold-able bath seat to be designed to allow comfort for a second adult to share a bath and to provide protection from the taps for children playing in the bath from banging their heads on the taps The bath seat is moulded to fit a large size adult male back The seat is in three sections, two wide side sections and one central middle section, allowing the seat to be easily stored away The upper arm housings are connected to the seat body by hinges to allow easier storage', these arm housings clip into a square collar moulded onto the back of the seat allowing them to be securely affixed There are holes in the bottom of the seat to allow water to pass through i
