SANITARY WEAR
The invention relates to a garment that may be worn for the purposes of female sanitation.
Sanitary pads and tampons are well known, but suffer from the disadvantages of slippage, leakage and more serious effects in the past such as toxic shock syndrome.
An object of this invention is to provide a single use, disposable undergarment, which provides more reliable female sanitation.
Accordingly, this invention incorporates a gusset composed of several layers, namely; a soft inner layer, an absorbent pad to prevent slippage and an impermeable layer to prevent leakage out of the garment.
Preferably the garment is to be made of cotton but may be made from other suitable natural or synthetic fibres or a combination ofthese materials.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: FIGURE I shows a view of the whole garment: FIGURE 2 is a section showing the several layers of the gusset of the garment; FIGURE 3 shows how the garment may be worn.
Figure 1. shows how the gannent comprises a main body 1 from which four tie strings radiate 2,3,4, 5, which allow the garment to be tied at each side of the waist as shown in Figure 3.
The main body 1 includes a gusset 6, which is composed of several layers as shown in Figure 2.
Figure 2. shows the various layers within the gusset, namely a permeable soft inner lining 7, an absorbent pad 8, which draws fluids away from the inner lining 7. An impermeable layer 9 prevents leakage out of the garment through layer] O. The outer layer 1;) is continuous with the main body of the garment 1.
Figure 3. shows how the gannent may be worn, with the tie strings 2,3,4,5, tied to the desired length so that one size fits all.
