Abstract

The spirit level includes a rectangular casing 1 with two or more level indicators 2 located in cutouts 5. Lamp holders 7 with removable push-in bulbs 8 provide a light source to the level indicators. The level indicators are located in removable and transparent holders 6. A push button or slide switch 3 controls the operation of the bulbs via wiring 9 and a power source of batteries 11. The batteries are located in a holder 10, and end caps 4 are provided to aid access to the interior of the casing.

Description

NEW LEVEL

The invention relates to a Spirit Level which can be used in areas of poor lighting or bad visibility.

Standard spirit levels arc well known but it's difficult to see the level Indicator in alcoves and areas where the lighting cast's a shadow or iS poor.

The object of this level is to increase visibility in such conditions as poor lighting and visibility.

Accordingly this invention provides a level with two or more level indicators illuminated by two or more lights operated by a switch as and when required.

Preferably the level would be made from metal or plastic material or a combination of both.

A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows a side view of level.

Figure 2 shows a view of the inside of the level.

Figure 3 shows a end view of level.

Figure 4 shows a top view of level.

Figure 5 shows bottom view.

As figl shows the level comprises of a rectangular box shaped casing 1 incorporating a hole and a cut out 5 for viewing of level indicators 2and a switch 3 to operate level cud caps to enclose and protect fittings inside.

Fig 2 shows a look at the level internally. The switch 3 push or slide is wired 9 to two lamp holders 7 which hold the push in bulbs 8 which illuminate behind removable transparent level indicator holder 6 allowing the light to shine through to light up level indicator 2, the wiring 9 is connected to a battery holder 10 and powered by 4 AA batteries 1 1.

Fig 3 shows end view of level casing 1 covered by end cap 4 also a screw 12 to connect battery holder to end cap to enable the end cap to be removed so that batteries can be easily replaced.

Fig 4 shows a top view of level casing 1 and removable level indicator 2 being held in by counter sunk screws 13 these screws also allow for adjustment and access to removable bulbs.

Fig 5 shows a bottom view level casing 1 and two countersunk screws 13 to hold bulb holders on inside.

The level indicator holders 6 are removable for two reasons, these are for changing the level indicators 2 if necessary and allow access to change bulbs 8.The end caps 4 are also removable to allow access to change batteries 11.

Claims (5)

1. A Spirit level including two or more level indicators which can be illuminated by the push or slide of a switch.

2. A Spirit level as claimed in claim 1 where the bulbs can be changed.

3. A Spirit level as claimed in claims 1 and 2 where it can be run on batteries that can be replaced.

4. A Spirit level as claimed in claim 3 where it can be operated by a push button or slide control.

5. A Spirit level substantially as herein described and illustrated in accompanying drawings.
