Abstract

A shower head support extension that is attached to the bottom of an existing shower riser rail 9 enabling an existing shower head 7 to be mounted at a lower position on the shower head support extension. The shower head support may have an riser rail 2 with a sliding support 6 to hold the existing shower head that may be fixed at a desired height using tightening device 3. The extension may be hung beneath the existing riser rail 9 by a hook 1 and held against a tiled wall by a second sliding attachment 4 with a sucker 5 that once fixed at a desired height may be attached to the face of a tile.

Description

SHOWER EXTENSION
The invention relates to a shower extension which attaches to the bottom of an existing shower riser rail enabling the shower head to be mounted at a lower position.
Existing shower rails are typically set at a height which is convenient for adults.
Although there is some height adjustment through sliding the support up and down the riser rail this is usually limited to less than a metre which is still too high for young children.
The new shower extension is suspended from the existing shower rail by means of a hook or similar device which allows the shower head to be mounted considerably lower and enables young children to enjoy the benefits of a shower.
Due to the fact that the shower extension is fixed in place using a hook and a sucker it is fully portable and can be easily removed or installed with no knowledge of plumbing and without damage to existing fixtures.
Preferably the shower extension is made from metal or plastics material or from a combination of these materials.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings which: FIGURE 1 shows a side view of the shower extension; FIGURE 2 shows a front view of the shower extension; FIGURE 3 shows a front view of the shower extension hanging from an existing shower and with the existing shower head fitted.
As shown in Figure 3, the shower extension comprises a hook 1 which hangs to the bottom of an existing shower riser rail 9. The hook is attached to the new riser rail 2 which hangs beneath the existing shower riser rail 9. The existing shower head 7 is held at the right angle by the sliding support 6 which can be moved up and down the extension pole 2 and fixed at the desired height using tightening device 3.
The second sliding attachment 4 holds the bottom of the rail in place by means of a sucker 5. The height of the sucker 5 can be adjusted by sliding it up and down the riser rail 2 and fixed at the desired height using a tightening device 4. This will ensure that the sucker sticks to the face of a tile and does not fall on a grout line Figure 3 shows an existing shower head 7' existing shower unit 8 and existing shower riser rail 9. These are included only to illustrate how the shower extension works and are not part of the invention. Although the invention itself can be seen in position in Figure 3 it is shown on its own and in more detail in Figures 1 and 2 (reference numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Andes. 2 1
