Abstract

A band 3 to be worn primarily around the wrist(s) of a wearer with a cold patch 1 to be positioned over the main veins running through the wrist, to cool the user's blood passing through the body to reduce sweating and the need to sweat. Preferably the band 3 is seamless and made of material with elastic properties and an absorbent material. The cold patch 1 may be fixed to the band 3 by a non permanent securing mechanism 2 which allows the patches to be replaced and changed. Preferably the patch is made of a material with a high specific heat capacity so it stays cool for as long a time as possible, such as self-cooling chemicals, that cools automatically in the air or a material that may be placed in a refrigerator for a period of time prior to use. The band 3 may be worn around the head of the user as a headband.

DESCRIPTION
BODY TEMPERATURE CONTROL DEVICE
This invention is a device for reducing the users body temperature. It is a band worn about one or both wrist(s) or the head if the device is of a suitable size. The device is portable and discrete allowing prolonged usage day or night.
When a person is too hot, they suffer from discomfort and can find it difficult to sleep due to the body being at a higher temperature than ideal.
This invention cools the user's body from the inside to reduce sweating and the need to sweat as well as reducing the associated discomfort.
This invention is an adjustable securely fitting band to be worn primarily around the wrist(s) with an integral but replaceable and changeable substance made in to a cold patch to be positioned over the main veins running through the wrist. This patch cools the blood passing through the body so as to cool the body internally.
The band is preferably seamless and made of a material with elastic properties and an absorbent material closely related to sweat bands. There will be different sizes to accommodate different sized bodies.
The patch will be made of a material with a high specific heat capacity so it stays cool for as long a time as possible. It will either be made with self-cooling chemicals and materials or will be required to be placed in a refrigerator for a period of time prior to use.
The patch will ideally stay cool for at least four hours to allow the user to drift in to a deep sleep or carry out day to day duties not suffering from discomfort due to the heat.
Figure 1 shows the side view of the device.
Figure 2 very similar to Figure 1 shows the device opened up as if cut once and allowed to open.
Figure 3 shows the device as worn on a wrist.
As shown in Figure 1, the device features a cold patch 1, fixed to the band 3 by a securing mechanism 2 which allows the patches to be replaced and changed.
For maximum effect, the patch 1 must be positioned over the main veins in the users wrist as shown in Figure 3. The band 3 having no joins and being soft allows for comfortable positioning.

Claims (6)

- CLAIMS BODY TEMPERATURE CONTROL DEVICE
1. A portable and discreet device for keeping the wearer feeling cool.
2. A device as claimed in Claim 1 that fits securely around the users wrist(s) and uses a cold patch to cool the main veins in the wearer's wrist and therefore the body internally.
3. A device as claimed in all prece; sing claims that can be worn to aid sleep by firstly reducing and then by keeping the body at its ideal temperature.
4. A device as claimed in all preceding claims that can be worn by children and adults by changing the cold patches to one less extreme for children and using a child sized band.
5. A device as claimed in all preceding claims that could be worn around the head if a suitably sized band was obtained.
6. A device substantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
