Abstract
The fishing line retriever is a solid circular buoyant disk 3 that is attached to the fishing line via a slot 2 the slot is covered by a rubber band 1 once in place. The disk is allowed to travel on the fishing line freely. The disk travels down the taught line forced by the flow of the river water. Once the disk has reached the snagged area, the fishing line is allowed to slacken off (see fig 3).

Specification for snagged fishing line retriever
This invention relates to a device for retrieving snagged fishing lines on flowing waters.
Quite often when fishing on moving waters like rivers, the terminal tackle can become snagged on the bottom of the river bed. This device has been designed to release snagged tackle.
By using this device fishermen can retrieve there terminal tackle, in tact and reduce the expenditure on replacing lost lures etc. The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows the circular flat disk Figure 2 shows the disk attached to the main fishing line Figure 3 shows the disk in action, releasing the snagged tackle In figure 1, a solid buoyant circular disk I the disk has a slot through to centre hole 2 the disk is secured on to the main fishing line with a broad rubber band that is pushed over the slot 3 In Figure 2, the fishing line is kept taught 4 the disk is released and allowed to travel down the line onto the water the flow of the river forces the disk down the taught fishing line to the snagged area 7 In figure 3, Once the disk has reached the snagged area, the fishing line is allowed to be slacked off 8 This allows the disk to carry on its journey with the flow of the river 9 releasing the snagged line from the opposite direction of the fisherman on the river bank 10 Once released the fisherman winds in his terminal tackle and the disk for future use.
Claims (4)
- Claims 1. A snagged fishing line retriever is an aid to retrieve snaggedlines on flowing waters using a buoyant disk sunken with the flow of the water to the snagged area.
- 2. A snagged fishing line retriever according to claim 1 in which the buoyant disk means a material that with naturally float on water.
- 3. A snagged fishing line retriever according to claim 1 in which the sunken with flow of water means the disk will travel down the line forced by the flow of the river water and the taught fishing line.
- 4. A snagged fishing line retriever according to claim 1 in which snagged area means the area where the fishing line is being held under water in a fixed position.
