Abstract

Bathroom scales have footpads 4, between which is a digital display 1 which can show the body weight, time/date and voices. The voices are a choice of light-hearted audio persona's, that are, or are not congratulatory depending on weight gained or lost._Below the display is a speaker that relays the audio response and the controls to change the digital display features, previously recorded weigh-ins can be accessed by the controls to also monitor weight change. The audio responses can be turned off or just play the positive noise if weight has been lost. A selector switch is used for choosing between metric and imperial measurements. The scales have the ability to work for two different people.

Description

MOTIVATIONAL WEIGHT-LOSS BATHROOM SCALES
The invention relates to bathroom scales of the type which tell you your weight with a digital display.
Such scales are well known but suffer from the disadvantage that they do not keep a record of your last entered weight and give you positive audio responses in regards any weight loss.
An object of this invention is to encourage and give light-hearted audio responses to weight loss with the option of further responses if weight gained.
Accordingly, the invention provides a digital display with time/date until the scales are in use, at which time it will show your current weight and give a relevant audio response. Also it will give a variety of voices to choose from and have a record of previous entries with the dates.
Preferably the scales should be made from metal or plastics and the display should be digital.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: FIGURE 1 is the surface on the bathroom scales showing its features; FIGURE 2 is a close view of the controls, speaker and digital display currently showing the main menu; FIGURE 3 is a side view of the scales showing its 3 switches; As shown in Figure 1, the surface of the scales comprise of footpads 4, a digital display 1, a speaker 2 and controls 3.
By using the controls 3, the time/date, desired weight and choice of audio responses can be entered. This allows the scales to establish when you stand on the footpads 4 whether you have lost or gained weight since the last time they were stood on and respond with the accurate audio response.
As shown in Figure 2, the controls 3 will lead you into a menu where you can change the choice of your audio response, time/date, and check entered weights 1 from earlier dates with the help of a selector arrow 2. The audio responses with be light-hearted with some being humorous.
As shown in Figure 3, the scales have an audio switch 1 which gives three options; off, on without weight gain responses, on. It also has a selector switch 2 for choosing between metric and imperial measurements. The scales will have the ability to work and store information for two different people, this can be operated by moving the person selector switch 7 before using.

Claims (8)

1. Bathroom scales including a digital display, controls to change the features on the display and a speaker to hear audio responses.
2. Bathroom scales as claimed in claim 1 which display the time and date while not in use.
3. Bathroom scales as claimed in claim 2 where your weight is recorded in the scale's memory and can be accessed within a certain period of usage.
4. Bathroom scales as claimed in any preceding claim where your selected audio response from a varied selection of voice persona's is relayed on point of usage in regards to your previously recorded weight and any weight loss/gain incurred.
5. Bathroom scales as claimed in any preceding claim that provides its service for 2 people, which is controlled by a switch.
6. Bathroom scales as claimed in any preceding claim that have a selector switch to choose between metric and imperial measurements.
7. Bathroom scales as claimed in any preceding claim where the audio responses can be turned off or set to just play the positive noise by a selector switch.
8. Bathroom scales substantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
