Abstract

A printing paper, especially for ink-jet printing, comprises a carrier (1) and a hydrophilic absorption layer (2) spread by the extrusion coating technique on top of the carrier (1) and a pigment-containing top-coating layer (3) on top of the above-mentioned absorption layer. The top-coating layer (3) contains as the pigment at least 40 wt % of colloidal silica, preferably between 40 and 80 wt %.
