Ironing-machines, work supports for.-The work support such as the roller of a Decoudun machine comprises a solid base 2 with a plurality of resilient members 4, such as corks fitted into recesses 3 in the upper surface of the base, the upper portions of the resilient members protruding from the recesses so that a resilient surface results. The resilient members may be dovetailed into correspondingly shaped grooves, with spacing members inserted between the resilient members, or they may be secured by rods which pass therethrough and which are fixed to the ends of the base member. The resilient members may be covered with a laver 17 of asbestos or other heat-resisting material, and the space between the members may be placed in communication with an exhausting device for withdrawing moisture therefrom.
