Abstract

A pushcart brake device has a wheel 6, a wheel support seat 1, a slide plate 2, a drive disk 4, and a shaft 5. The wheel support seat 1 has a hollow interior 11, a socket 12, and a through hole 15. The wheel 6 has a click device 61 inserted in the hollow interior 11 of the wheel support seat 1. The socket 12 has a slide groove 13 receiving the slide plate 2. The slide plate 2 has at least one post 21, an oblong hole 20, and a distal click block 22. The drive disk 4 has an axle hole 40, and at least a groove 41,42 for receiving the post 21 of the slide plate. The shaft 5 passes through the axle hole 40 of the drive disk 4, the through hole 15 of the wheel support seat 1, the oblong hole 20 of the slide plate 2, and the wheel 6. A pedal 45 is connected to the drive disk 4. Pressing the pedal downwards causes the groove 41,42 and post 21 to slide the click block 22 to block rotation of the click device 61. Alternative embodiments have pedals of two brake devices connected by a rod (7', fig 5), or a central pedal (8'', fig 6) on a common wheel shaft.

Description

I I lea e TITLE: BRAKE DEVICE OF A PUSHCART
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a brake device. More particularly, the present invention relates to a brake device of a pushcart.
5 U.S. Patent No.5,460,399 has disclosed a brake device to brake two rear wheels of a pushcart at the same time. The brake device has two brake rods. Each brake rod is slidably supported below a rear assembly and in spaced-apart parallel alignment with a tubular axle by an outer support member and an inner support member. If the outer support member is not in alignment with the inner support 1 0 member precisely, the brake rods will not be moved smoothly.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
An object of the present invention is to provide a brake device of a pushcart that is easily assembled.
15 Another object of the present invention is to provide a brake device of a pushcart that is easily operated.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
FIG. I is a perspective exploded view of a brake device of a pushcart of a first 2 0 preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention; FTG.2 is a sectional assembly view of a brake device of a pushcart of a first preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention; F1G. 3 is a schematic view illustrating a first operation of a brake device of a pushcart of a first preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention;
