Cylinder machines; inking-apparatus; tripping-arrangements.-A duplicating machine comprises two longitudinal members connected by a plate adapted to support the printing- block, and a carriage movable along the longitudinal members on antifriction rollers, and having mounted thereon a frame carrying an impression roller and an inking-roller, the frame being pivoted so that the inking-roller and the impression roller may be brought into engagement respectively with the printing-block and with a sheet of paper laid thereon. The inking-roller is in permanent contact with a distributing-roller reciprocating longitudinally. The printing-block is held by adjustable stops 7, 8 upon a base plate 3 connected to two longitudinal members 1 upon which travels a carriage 9 furnished with antifriction rollers 14, 15. A frame 17 pivoted upon a cross shaft 16 in the carriage supports an inking-roller 24, an ink-distributing roller 28, and an impression roller 22, a spring on the shaft 16 normally holding the frame against a rubber stop 32. One end of the shaft 27 of the distributing roller 28 is formed with a double helical screw thread co-operating with the stationary bearing of the shaft to cause the roller to reciprocate longitudinally as it is rotated. The frame 17 is provided with a handle 20 for reciprocating the carriage 9 and for depressing the impression roller into contact with the sheet. Towards the end of the printing stroke of the carriage, a roller 34 on the frame 17 rides on to an incline 35 and raises the roller 22 to prevent it engaging the stop 8. A second incline 36 prevents the depression of the roller 22 until it is clear of the stop 7. Rubber stops 37 on the ends of the members 1 limit the movement of the carriage 9.
