Abstract
238,603. Brackensey, A. H., and Franco-British Electrical Co., Ltd. May 20, 1924. Globes.-A coloured incandescent electric lamp for advertising signs &c. has a translucent reflecting medium or surface formed on or over the crown only of the lamp, in combination with an enveloping transparent coloured medium or surface formed on or over the whole lamp, so that the reflected light blends with the coloured light and the patchy effect produced by the translucent crown is avoided. In one arrangement, Fig. 4, a plain uncoloured bulb 1 is employed with a hood having a translucent crown 2 and a coloured surface 3. The translucent and coloured surfaces may both be applied to the interior or exterior surfaces of the hood, or the translucent surface may be inside and the coloured surface outside. In another arrangement, a plain uncoloured lamp is fitted with a translucent white cap in combination with a tinted hood. Specifications 7069/09 and 23774/12, [both in Class 39 (ii), Electric lamps, Incandescent], are referred to.
