Abstract

A golf ball heating compartment capable of accommodating between 9 and 18 balls. The housing would be equipped with a heating element powered by either rechargeable batteries, small solar panels or by electric power. A thermostat switch is part of the design and used to regulate the temperature settings to between 5 and 18 degrees. A digital voltage/temperature meter is incorporated and used to indicate the settings as well as adjusting the settings. A clip used to attach it to a golf bag would accompany the device. The device serves as a functional aid to help golfers achieve more distance when driving the ball. The heat generated by the device would serve to heat the ball's core increasing its elasticity and generating more recoil when struck.

Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
GOLF BALL HEATING COMPARTMENT The invention relates to a device that would be used to heat up golf balls to a temperature that would increase the elasticity of the hall's core thus enabling it to travel farther when struck.
The device is intended to enable a golf ball to travel farther than would otherwise be the case when struck with the same amount of force, particularly during periods of cold weather when the ambient temperatures may work to reduce the ball's distance even more than might otherwise be the case The device serves as a functional aid to help golfers achieve more distance when driving the ball The heat generated by the device would service to cause the ball's core to expand, thus increasing its elasticity and generating more recoil when struck by the club This, combined with the golfer's level of strength and accuracy would work to propel the ball further than would otherwise be the case if the ball were left at the ambient temperature of the surrounding environment This invention provides an elongated housing capable of accommodating between 9 and 18 balls The housing would be equipped with a heating element that would be powered by either rechargeable batteries, or small solar panels affixed along side one side of the housing, or alternatively by electric power A thermostat switch would be part of the design to enable the temperature of the balls to be set at between 5 to 18 degrees in order to vary the speed of the balls The device would be accompanied by a clip, which could be used to secure the container to the golf bag A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which Figure 1 shows overall design and a cross section of the compartment Figure 2 shows the overall design and cross section of the device As shown in the cross section the device has within its base a heating element. The centre of the cross section in Figure 1 is where a golf ball would be contained The overall design of Figure 1 shows how each of the golf balls would be contained within their own compartment with solar panels attached to the lid of each compartment should solar power be used Figure 2 shows where batteries could be inserted at point F. A power point could be inserted at point A Point D indicates the clip in order for the device to be attached to a golf bag. Point B indicates a voltage/temperature digital meter to indicate the settings of the various power sources as well as adjusting the settings
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Golf Ball Heating compartment 1) It is a process of heating golf balls as they travel further and better when warm 2) The golf balls could be heated by three different power sources 1 - Electric 2-Battery 3-Solar 3) The ball heater rod could be hooked onto the golf bag by (D) and then the solar power will come into effect or if not used you could have batteries at (B) and put the rod in the same place as the clubs in the golf bag The batteries could be charged at position (A) (K).
4) Each ball gets its own compartment of which there are either 9 or 18 A= Power point B= Voltage digital meter of either three power sources C= Solar power panels D= Clip to clip onto golf bag E= Position of 9 to 18 balls F= Battery position container (B) G= Top clip H= Solar power on top clip 1= Bottom clip with electric coiled elements J= Open and close position of the compartment with a golf hall in 5) The temperature of the balls could vary from 5 to 18 degrees to vary the speed of the ball

Claims (6)

  1. CLAIMS 1. A golf ball heating compartment comprising, an elongated housing, accommodating between 9 and 18 balls, equipped with a heating element, a thermostat switch, enabling the balls to be heated to between 5 and 18 degrees 2. A golf ball heating compartment as claimed in 1 where the element is powered by, rechargeable batteries, or small solar powered panels or alternatively by electric power 3 A golf ball heating compartment as claimed in 1 and 2 which has a digital
    voltage meter to indicate the settings of the various power sources as well A as being used to adjust the settings 4. A golf ball heating compartment as claimed in 1,2 and 3, which is accompanied by a clip which could be used to secure the compartment to a golf bag
    <Desc/Clms Page number 4>
    Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows CLAIMS 1. A golf ball-heating device comprising individual golf ball compartments, each equipped with individual heating elements and a thermostat allowing each ball to be heated to a required temperature and individually regulated enabling multiple temperature settings for a range of balls according to varying requirements.
  2. 2. A golf ball heating device as claimed in 1 where a golf ball can be returned to the device and heated individually from the other balls allowing multiple heating of the same ball throughout a game without affecting other balls held in the device.
  3. 3. A golf ball heating device as claimed in 1 and 2, where each compartment can be set at different temperature according to different distance and swing power impact of the club to the ball and the flight control requirements of the ball.
  4. 4. A golf ball heating device as claimed in 1,2 and 3 where each compartment has a solar panel which supplies the power for that compartment to safeguard voltage fluctuation across compartments, alternatively rechargeable batteries could be used to power the heating elements of each compartment and batteries could be used to top up the solar power generated should it be required or alternatively by electric power.
  5. 5. A golf ball heating compartment as claimed in 1, 2, 3 and 4 which has a digital voltage meter to indicate the settings of each compartment as well as being used to regulate each compartment's settings individually.
  6. 6. A golf ball heating device as claimed in 1,2, 3,4 and 5 which can accommodate between 9 and 18 balls and is accompanied by a clip which could be used to secure the compartment to a golf bag
