Abstract
An auxiliary lighting cluster which comprises of 1 or 2 rear lighting units with either a magnetised base (drawing 2. fig 1), or attaching straps (drawing 2. Fig 2). A flexible wire with electrical connectors carries the services (drawing 1.) which is to be connected to the original vehicle electric's. The unit then can be placed on a suitable point at the rear of the vehicle (drawing 3).
Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1> Invention 1/A This invention relates to an auxiliary lighting cluster. There is many applications that this invention could be used for. The main example that I would like to use as an explanation is for Heavy Goods Vehicles. Being a lorry driver, one of the problems I have come across when picking up an articulated trailer is the fact that someone has rsfnovd the taillight bulbs and lenses. This can be infuriating as well as causing many problems i.e., trying to find a shop to sell the required items. or having to call out a fitter to replace the stolen bits. This causes a lot of down time and unnecessary expenditure. The other option is to run without any lights or lenses, which is illegal and could be very dangerous.
My invention is a simple and practical solution to combat this.
I will use two rear lighting clusters which have attachments, either magnets or a strapping device to clamp them onto the rear of the trailer. The electric's are carried through a flexible wire which plugs into the existing bulb holders.
These when finished with will be uncoupled and stored in the lorry for future use.
Figure 1 shows a front view of the cluster. Figure 2 shows the rear with alternative types of attachment.
Figure 3 shows the cluster in perspective with the rear of the trailer

Claims (4)
- CLAIMS 1. A light cluster where the unit has a magnetised base in which it can be affixed to any metalli, part of the rear of the trailer.
- 2. A cluster as claimed in claim 1 where the unit can be affixed to certain parts of the of the trailer by a strapping device.
- 3. A cluster as claimed in claim 1 and 2 where the item is electrically connected by a flexible cord with corresponding attachments to the orif"nal trailer connections.
- 4. An auxiliary lighting cluster substantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
