Abstract

A fold down desk, that can be fitted to any vehicle with a steering wheel, comprises two arms A and a lower adjustable clamp B for fastening the fold down desk to a steering wheel. The fold down tray can be adjusted and locked into position using C. Any paperwork can be held in position with the use of a grip D. The desk can be removed and folded fiat for storage.

manufacture and distribution of a device to be used in an automobile that provides a driver -with a convenient work surface on which to complete paperwork or engagein similar activities The device -would be fabricated from plastic and would consist of a fold- down tray that would descend from a vertical piece fitied over a steering wheel using two rubbergpps positioned so as to clear theairba, housing. The section of the device that firs over the Steering -wheel would be 38 cm wide by 33 cm high and would be equipped with a tension clip along the top to hold papers in place. The horizontal tray that would serve as the desk -would be 38 cm wide by 23 cm deep and would be joined to the upper piece by two adjustable straps 12 cm in length. This would assure that the desk stirface could be positioned in a level manner.

To utilise the device, the upper panel would simply be secured in place to the steering wheel and the tray would be dropped down to serve as a desk-style work surface. In addition to its primary use for performing work in an automobile, the tray could also be used to hold food when the driver needs to park the vehicle and grab a quick meal while travelling. When not in use, the device could be easily folded up and placed behind the seat or stored away M another convenient location. As it -would not be permanently attached to the vehicle, it could be easily moved from one vehicle to another.

With this configuration, Auto Office -would serve as a handy device for anyone who has occasion to perform -work-related activities in a car.
