Abstract

The child seat protector consists of a permeable top layer, an absorbent middle layer and a non-permeable bottom layer. In the embodiment the layers are made of cotton, polyester and PVC respectively so that the protector is fully washable. The protector is shaped to fit around the safety harness at the front and tapered in at the back to fit into the seat and go slightly up the child's back. The protector is designed to protect the main cover of car seats, high chairs and pushchairs from being soiled.

Description

2359989 SEAT PROTECTOR The invention relates to a seat protector which can
be used to protect any child seat i.e. car, pushchair etc.
The seat protector solves the problem of the child wetting a car seat or pushchair seat whilst being toilet trained.
An item like this helps prevent a car seat and pushchair from being soiled.
The seat cover is washable, provides added comfort and prevents you having to dismantle a car seat or pushchair for cleaning purposes.
It is made of 100% cotton top cover, absorbant polyester middle layer and a PVC bottom layer, so it is fully washable. Can be manufactured in a range of colours.
Photograph 1. shows the top of the seat cover, it is shaped to fit around the safety harness at the front and tapered in at the back to fit into the seat and go slightly up the childs back.
Photograph 2. shows the underside of the cover, it shows the PVC bottom layer, you can also see that it is edged to give added strength and durability.
An example of a situation that you would use this seat protector is as follows: whilst on a car journey a young child might accidentally urinate, which results in having to take the car seat cover off for washing, which results in the car seat being out of action for some time. The seat protector when used can be easily removed, washed, dried and replaced in a reasonably short time and does not result in the car seat being out of use. There is also the option of a parent buying a second cover for washing purposes. The seat protector is also available in twin packs and it has the same purpose for pushchairs.
