Doffing-arrangements; threadsevering arrangements; spindle and lifting rails.-In spinning and like frames in which the flyer is driven and the bobbins are carried on a rotary frame, the bobbin-carrier 10 is mounted on a rotatable tube 5, which is mounted in front of, or behind the flyers and carries an internal rod 16, Fig. 3, by the longitudinal movement of which thread-severing mechanism arranged in ribs 14 on the boss of the carrier is operated. The carrier is rotated to remove the fullv wound bobbins, and to place empty bobbins in the spinning position, and guide rollers 13 are provided to facilitate the winding of a few turns of yarn from the full bobbins on to the empty bobbins prior to the severing operation. Gapped plungers 15 connected by pins 17 to the rod are mounted in the ribs 14 so that, when the rod 16 is moved longitudinally the plungers sever the yarn against the edges of passages formed in the ribs.
