Abstract
235,431. Eno, Ltd., J. C., and Jaggers, W. J. Sept. 5, 1924. Cap-stoppers, bayonet joint. -A thin metal cap for bottles &c. having comparatively large necks and pouring orifices comprises a flat crown or top a<x>, Fig. 1, rounded or curved at the edge to merge into a roughened strip or band c formed in the usual deep skirt which is provided near its lower edge with two internal, diametrically-opposite projections d adapted to enter tapered L-shaped recesses f, Fig. 4, in the bottle neck b, the horizontal portions f<1> of the recesses having a length equal to about twice the diameter of the projections d. When the cap is in the closed position its lower edge is flush with an abutment flange g on the bottle neck.
