Abstract

A method and apparatus for separating fluids flowing through a downhole well passageway (D) includes separating fluids pumped downhole (WB) by centrifugal separation, gradually increasing centrifugal acceleration, establishing annular flow, gradually establishing annular flow, and receiving fluid in a receiving chamber (2) of increasing cross-sectional area of flow. A method and apparatus is suggested for use of a fluid separator tool (DFS) with tubing for downhole well operations, particulary with coiled tubing (CT).
