Abstract
A bicycle separator has a layer of cushioning material (1) having an opening (2) allowing it to be passed over the stems of a bicycle rack (4). The separator is positioned between two or more bicycles (3) on a rack during storage or transport, thus preventing damage to the bicycles from direct contact with each other.
Description
2351054 -l BICYCLE SEPARATOR This invention relates to a bicycle separator
used during the transit and storage of bicycles on a bicycle rack.
When transporting or storing more than one bicycle on a bicycle rack it is necessary to use a method of separating the bicycles in order to prevent damage caused by friction between the bicycles.
The object of this invention is to provide an easy method by which to separate the bicycles as they are mounted and durinq,storage or transportation.
Accordingly the invention will provide a bicycle separator comprising a surface preferably made from a resilient cushioning material with adapted open sections to allow mounting over the bicycle rack stems during transportation or storage.
The open sections beinq adapted to suit various biccle rack designs.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which.
Figure 1 shows a view of the bicycle separator.
Figure 2 shows a bicycle mounted on a bicycle rack with the bicycle separator in position and ready for another bicycle to be mounted.
As shown in figure 1 the bicycle separator 1 comprises of a cushioning surface adapted to cover a large portion of the bicycle frame with adapted open sections 2 to allow mounting over the bicycle rack stems.
Figure 2 shows a bicycle 3 mounted onto the bicycle rack stems 4 the bicycle separator 1 is fitted into place over the stems 4 through the adapted open sections 2 thus allowing a further bicycle to be mounted directly onto the bicycle separator 1.

Claims (1)
- CLAIMA bicycle separator comprising a surface preferably made from a resilient cushioninq material with adapted open sections to allow mounting over the bicycle rack stems during transportation or storage.
