Abstract

A hair band having an elongate or ring shaped (Fig 5,6) body, has a hook at each end or on opposite sides, whereby to attach it to the hair. The hooks, of metal or plastic, may take the form of a double letter J and the body may be of fabric or elastic, optionally fabric covered.

1 2351020 Hair Grip The invention relates to a hair accessory that

includes, hair grips namely hair band and head band with hooks at each end of two pieces of material of desired shape and length and size with if desired, a piece of elastic running or stitched down the centre inside. This piece of material is stiched together, it can be joined together at the end if desired.

Such hair accessory is well known but suffers from the disadvantage that when used for holding hair, because they have no hooks it is very difficult to work with. The tension is limited and most times are too loose and hair may not be as tidy as may be desired.

An object of this invention is to provide a hair accessory that is easy to wrap around the head or hair to make a pony tail or a head band, providing firmness and neatness. This will be possible by adding hooks, to hook into the hair at each side.

Preferably the hair accessory can be made out of cloth but it can also be made from stringed beads with the hooks at the ends, or even elasticated material but with the hooks at the ends.

The hooks are made from plastic or metal. The metal is about 2-3 mm thick, approx. 5-10 mm long, Its like the letters JJ joining at the top and bottom. At the top it can be round or square with a hole to allow it to joined to the material. At the bottom it is join making it round.

The plastic hooks are approx. 3-5 mm thick approx.3 mm apart, approx. 1535 mm long. At the top it can be round or square with a hole to allow it to join to the material. These are two hooks approx. 5-10 mm apart curving at the bottom like the letters JJ. These hooks are approx. sizes and may be larger or smaller.

Figure 1 shows a sketch of metal hook.

Figure 2 shows a sketch of plastic hook 2- Figure 3 shows head band or hair bands this can be determine by the length of material, without elastic. This is with metal hooks but could also use plastic hooks.

Figure 4 hair band or head band depending on length of material with elastic sewn inside down the centre. This is shown with plastic hooks but could also be used with metal hooks.

Claims

1. A hair --rip, namely hair band and head band., with. metal or plastic hooks of varying sizes at each end or sides of two pieces of material. This material could be of W desired shape length, size, or style joined to form a circle, with if desired a piece of elastic running down the centre inside giving it a gathered or frilly look.

2. A hair grip as claim 1. The material is stitched down the sides and can be joined together if desired.
