Abstract

A scaffold board has a foamed recycled polymer core and an exterior of polymeric material. It may have a non-slip surface, and an end cap of shock - absorbing material.

Description

POLYMERIC SCAFFOLDING This invention relates to scaffold boards, which are used as platforms in the scaffolding industry.
The wooden boards used today in the scaffolding industry are expensive, heavy, weak, do not last long, difficult to clean and are not environmentally friendly due to the clearing of forests.
The object of this invention is to reduce the cost, weight of scaffold boards and increase the strength, longevity, ease of cleaning and the use of recycled materials thus reducing waste and the clearing of forests.
This invention is made from two polymers an external skin of solid polymer and an internal body of foamed recycled polymer.
A preferred internal structure will now be described with reference to an accompanying drawing wfiich : FIGURE 1 shows the cross section of the board FIGURE 2 shows an isometric view of the scaffold board FIGURE 3 shows an end cap and non slip surface As shown in figure 1 the scaffold board comprises of a external layer of polymer and an internal layer of foamed recycled polymer Figure 2 shows an isometric view of the scaffold board.
Figure 3 Shows an end view of the scaffold board with a end cap. This end cap will be made out of a shock absorbing material i. e. a polymer with elastic properties.
1 is a preferred end cap.
2 is the preferred non slip surface.

Claims (5)
