Seats and stools combined with or convertible into wash stands; seat bottoms and backs; nursery seats and stools.-A convertible chair comprises separable upper and lower structures 2, Fig. 5, 1, Fig. 4, adapted to fit together as shown in Fig. 3. The part 1 forms a receptacle for a bath 8 and may be fitted with a drawer 9. The legs 11 of the part 2 are adjustable vertically in the corners of the lower structure, and are apertured at 31, 32 to receive locking-bolts 36. The upper part, which when detached forms a low nursing-chair, is fitted with a hinged seat 15 preferably having a cork upper surface and a padded undersurface 20. When the seat 15 is in the raised position, a ledge 19 and seat 18 enable the structure to be used as a nursery-chair. A bracket 28 for a spring balance 30 and a towelairer 10 may be fitted to the upper and lower members of the chair, as shown.
