Folding paper. - In a sheet-folding machine employing buckling folders, one of the buckling- plates is adapted to be rendered inoperative as a stop plate so as to provide a clear passage therethrough for the sheet. The sheets are fed from a machine adapted to give a fixed number of folds, to an auxiliary folding-machine for providing a variable additional number of folds, and comprising folding-rollers d - - g and co-operating buckling-plates h, i from which the sheets are delivered by a' guide j and rollers k, k<1> to a stacker l. The stop i<1>, Fig. 1, on the plate i is mounted on rods adjustable as described in Specification 234,127, and can be rotated to an inoperative position, Fig. 3, so as to allow the sheets to pass down the throat in the plate i to rollers n, n, which deliver the sheets to a cross conveyer o feeding the the sheets to a cross folder. Rollers i<2> on a pivoted frame i<3> co-operate with fixed rollers m to forward the sheets through the plate i. The buckling-plate h and roller f are mounted as described in Specification 234,128 so that they can be moved out of the way of the rollers d, e, the sheets then passing from the main folding-machine through the rollers d, e to a shoot p, attached to the guide j, and delivering the sheets to the rollers k, k<1> and the stacker 1.
