Description
1 2339883 RADIATOR SEAL VALVE 1] The Invention Relates To A Valve Of The
Type Which Includes A Brass body With A Floating Treaded Nut At One End And A Threaded Section At The Other 2] The Valves On Existing Central Heating Radiator Are Adequate For Water Flow, How Ever If A Radiator Needs To Be Removed From Its Mounting Brackets For Decorating, Maintenance Etc The Complete Heating System As To Be Drained Of The Water And Any Protection Fluid That Was Put Into The Piped System.
3] The Object Of The New Radiator Seal Valve Is To Allow Easier Removal Of Any Size Radiator With Out The Necessity Of Draining The Heating System Of Water 4] The New Valve Consist Of A Brass Body With A Screwed Thread At One End A Floating Nut On A Hollow Tube With A Round Ball With A Hole Through The Centre Operated By A Rotating Screw.
5] The Whole Invention Preferably Should Be Made Entirely From Brass However Certain Parts Can Be Made From Copper 6] The Preferred Embodiment of The Invention Will Now Be Describe In Reference The Accompanying Drawing In Which:
FIG 1 Side View Of A Small Valve FIG 1.1 Cut Away Section Of Small Valve Showing Intemal Features FIG 2 Side View Of Large Valve FIG 2.1 Cut Away Of Large Valve Showing Internal Features FIG 3 Shows Radiator With New Valves Connected FIG 4 Shows Water Flow Through The Radiator When Valves Are Open FIG 5 Shows New Valves Closed And Disconnected From The Standard Radiator Valves And Water Remaining In The Radiator 2 As Show In Fig 1 The Valves Comprises Of A Brass Body 1 With Part Of The External Body Being Round And Part Hexagon So That It Can Be Turned With A Spanner The Left Hand End Of The Valve Shows 7 A Copper Tube Fitted Into 1 The Main Body With A Brass Floating Nut 9 Onto 7 With 8 A Brass Olive Onto 7.
On The Other End Of 1 The Main Valve Body A Hollow Tube With A Thread At Both Ends 3 Can Be Threaded Into 1 The Main Body The Internal Workings Consist Of A Round Ball 4 With A Hole Through The Middle And A Slot For 6 So That The Ball 4 Can Be Rotated When 6 Is Turned By Using A Screw Driver.
By Turning Ball 4 So That The Hole In 4 Faces The Side Walls Of 1 And With Sealing Washers 2 In Place No Water Can Pass The New Radiator Valve.
When The Valve 1 Is Threaded Into A Standard Steel Radiator 10 And The Other End Connected Onto A Standard Radiator Valve 11 It Allows Water To Flow Through The Heating As A Flow And Return System.
If The Radiator 10 Needs To Be Removed The Closing Of Valves 1 And 11 Will Stop The Water Flowing And Then Valves I And 11 Can Be Disconnected from each other by turning the nut 14 from the threaded section on 1 And then The Radiator Can Be Removed From The Wall Mounting Brackets With The Radiator Still Full Of Water
Claims (1)
1 The Radiator Seal Valve Comprises Of A Brass Body Being Shaped To Be Fitted Or Removed From Any Radiator, With A Internal Brass Ball That Can Be Rotated To Stop The Flow Of Water From Escaping From The Radiator. The Radiator Can Then Be Removed From The Pipe System And Removed From The Wall Mounting Brackets 2 The Radiator Seal Valve Is Capable Of Being Fitted Or Removed From Any Steel Radiator And Any Standard Radiator Valve By Means Of Adjustable Spanner By Turning The Hexagon Part On The Valve Body Or The Floating Brass Nut. 3 The Radiator Seal Valve (1) Or Claim [2] That Can Provide A Radiator To Be Removed Without Draining The Heating System. 4 The Radiator Seal Valve As Claimed In Claim [2]Or Claim [3] Can Be Fitted In To Any New Style Radiator That Is Made From A Pressed Steel Section 5 The Radiator Seal Valve Can Be Finished Externally In A Brass Or Chrome 6 The Radiator Seal Valve As Claimed In Any Preceding Claim, Will All Ways Contain A Brass Body Of Fig I Shape With A Threaded End And A Floating Nut And A Screw That Can Rotate The Internal Brass Ball. 7 The Radiator Seal Valve Substantially As Described Herein With Reference To Figures I To 5 Of The Accompanying Drawings
