2337452 CLOTHES RANGER WITH FACILITY FOR CARRYING AND RETAINING SEVERAL
FURTHER CLOTHES RANGERS This invention relates to a clothes hanger with the added facility to carry and retain several further clothes hangers.
Within the clothing industry the coat hanger is synonymous with the static hanging and porterage of clothes and garments of all descriptions. Over time, the varying designs of the clothes hanger and the materials they are made from has increased their scope enormously so that they are an intricate and essential part of everyone's wardrobe.
One facet of purposely designed clothes hangers has become increasingly important, that of hanging devices for use in transporting garments by mail order companies and alike. When a company wishes to transport via mail order several garments to a single location address then at present the company is usually charged per garment hanger, as these separate items although travelling together to the same address are considered by the carriers to be separate and individual items and so charged accordingly. The mail order company therefore needs a secure method of combining these individual and separate items together so they are treated as one by the carrier and so charged accordingly.
According to the present invention there is provided a clothes hanger comprising of a hook for hanging on a rail or alike, a body on which a garment such as a dress or jacket can be draped and hung that is adapted by means of several locating holes central to the hanger body which are of sufficient diameter so as to be able to accommodate and retain the hanging hooks of several further clothes hangers, allowing the clothes hanger to be used in its normal manner of carrying one garment or attire but with the added convenience of now being able to accommodate several other hangers together with their garments. The entire mass now able to be carried and secured by the first hanger's single hook mechanism to a rail or other suitable hanging facility.
A specific embodiment of the innovation will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:- Figure 1: Shows in perspective, the clothes hanger with the locating holes central to the hanger's body.
Figure 2: Shows in perspective, the clothes hanger with several further clothes hangers' hook mechanisms located through the centralised holes.
Figure 3.. Illustrates a side end view of the further hangers being taken up by the first hanger via its centralised locating holes.
Referring to the drawing the hanger comprises of a hook mechanism (1) and a rigidly formed body (2) conveniently shaped to accommodate the hanging or draping of clothing and alike, Central to the body of the hanger there is provided several locating holes (3) which are of sufficient diameter to facilitate the insertion and extraction of hook mechanisms or several further clothes hangers. (4) In order to use the hanger the body of the hanger (2) is held in one hand or the hanger is suspended by its hook mechanism. (1) The hook mechanism of a further clothes hanger (4) is then inserted through one of the locating holes (3) so that the subsequent clothes hanger (4) can then hang securely but freely from the initial hanger's body. (2) More clothes hangers can be added subsequently in the same fashion all secured by the initial hanger's body. (2) Wherever clothes hanger (2) is located simultaneous porterage of the extra hangers (4) and clothes load is automatic.
Removal of the hangers is simply the reverse procedure and sequence.

Claims (1)

1. A clothes hanger with the facility to carry several further clothes hangers comprising of a hook mechanism for hanging on to a rail or suitable facility, a rigid body adapted for hanging clothes on, whereby the body is further adapted by means of several locating-holes for carrying a plurality of further clothes hangers.
