Abstract

A self countersinking screw has cutting serrations on the underside of the screw head. The serrations are provided by blades which may be straight or curved (Fig 2), in line with the longitudinal axis of the screw (Fig 3), or offset at an angle. Alternatively, the serrations are provided by spikes (Fig 4) on the underside of the screw head.

Description.
The invention relates to taper screws for either or metal.
Screws have the disadvantage of not always being able to be screwed far enough into the material so as to be flush or belew the surface without the material first being countersunk.
With my invention the screwhead would be serrated on the 900 included angled taper.
As in fig.1 the serrations would be angled.
As in fig.2 the serrations would be curved.
As in fig.3 the serrations would be straight.
As in fig.4 there are many protruding minute sharp spLkes.

  1. Claims.
    A serrated screw would enable the screw to enter the material to surface level or below.
