Abstract

The immobiliser has two struts 10, 12 of which strut 12 is hinged to support leg 13 so that the struts can be pivoted open (Figure 1) and positioned around the vehicle's pedal stems 14. Once in this position the struts can be secured to each other by a padlock or barrel lock 15 so that the clutch, brake and accelerator pedals are rendered inoperable being held in a fixed, raised, position.

Description

VEHICLE PEDAL IMMOBILISER This invention relates to a vehicle pedal immobiliser.
There are many vehicle security systems available today. Many of these systems are relatively expensive and many of them are relatively ineffective.
The location of these systems within the vehicle too often renders them easily accessible to would-be vehicle thieves.
According to the present invention there is provided a vehicle pedal immobiliser comprising two horizontal strutts mounted on one adjustable support leg, strutts being adjustable to fit over and under vehicle pedal stems, means for releasably securing the strutts.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows in perspective the vehicle pedal immobilisor open.
Figure 2 illustrates the vehicle pedal immobiliser in position within the vehicle, the pedals being rendered inoperable and locked in their raised position.
Referring to the drawing, the vehicle pedal immobiliser comprises horizontal strts 10 and 12as shown in Figure 1. Strutt 10 is rigid and secured to support leg 13. Strutt 12 is hinged at support leg 13.
In order to fit the vehide pedal immobiliser to the vehicle, strutts 10 and 12 are opened and slid across pedal feet and located around pedal stems 14 as shown in Figure 2.
Once in position strutts 10 and 12 are secured to each other by a barrel lock, a padlock or sinlilar means 15 (not shown).
To remove the vehicle pedal immobiliser the steps described above are carried out in reverse sequence.

  1. CLAIMS 1 A vehicle pedal immobiliser comprising two horizontaL strutts, one being hinged, mounted upon one adjustable support leg, strutts being adjustable to fit over and under vehicle pedal stems thus rendering the vehicle pedals inoperable and locked in their raised position, means for releasably securing the strutts.
